Paper Mismatch Everytime I try to print I get a Paper Mismatch error and have to press OK to cancel the job. I checked the paper size, removed the paper and replaced it. I tried printing on an envelope and changed paper size to custom and still got the mismatch error. The paper in there now is 8 1/2" x 11". It is set for this size paper.

I have paper size mismatch problem also. I have wasted a lot of photo paper and ink trying to get the correct sizes for 4x6 prints also 5x7 and 8x10. there is no line up between the paper and printer. This problem is very annoying and expensive.

I have the same "Mismatch paper" problem on a HP C5580 All in One printer. I'm trying to print envelopes from a Hallmark Card Studio Deluxe program.

I have tried everthing HP support has suggested. This printer is 3 days old and I think it may be going back to Best Buy.

Is it the printer, the software or the card program? Will uninstalling and reinstalling the printer help?

    HELP!

I had this problem on the 6300 and was able to fix it by doing the following:

After selecting print, select preferences.
Select the Features tab.
Under Resizing Options, select "Custom" from the drop down menu.
Put in the custom dimensions of the paper on which you are printing.
Save it under a new name (e.g., "Invitation")

When it is time to print,
Select "More" from the drop down tab under Resizing Options.
At the bottom of the list of those options, you will see your custom sized saved.
Select it, and happy printing.

Paper Mismatch Solution
I've FINALLY fixed this problem. Go into Machine Settings and scroll to and select Auto Continue. I've had this problem with one of our PCs with the printer since we got it. I've just got a new main PC and it started doing it with that. Changed the settings in terms of paper size, etc, didn't make any difference. Then I saw the Auto Continue choice and selected that and now everything prints without having to go to the machine and press the button to over-ride the mismatch error. Thank goodness.

Hp j6480 printer wont print keeps sending a paper mismatch message

Paper mismatch errors occur because the product scans the width of the envelope before printing. If the paper size setting in the printer driver does not match the paper actually loaded in the product, the product reports a 'Paper Mismatch' error. The message saves paper and ink by preventing print jobs from accidentally printing on the wrong paper. For example, the print job might be for a 101.6 x 152.4 mm (4 x 6 inch) photo, but there is letter-size paper loaded in the product. The error message displays to make sure that ink is not wasted on the wrong paper type. try this out , disable the automatic paper type sensor.
  1. Open the Print dialog box.
    1. In Word 2003, click File , and then click Print
    2. In Word 2007, click the Office button (c01850900.gif ), and then click Print .
  2. Make sure that your product is in the Name drop-down list box, and then clickProperties .
  3. Click the Features or Paper/Quality tab.
  4. In the Paper type drop-down list, click Plain paper .
  5. Click OK to close the Properties dialog box.
  6. Click OK again to print the current print job.

Ignore the error and continue printing. The print job might still be acceptable even if the paper size and paper type settings are not an exact match.
  1. Press Enter on the control panel to clear the error message.

  • If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.

Mismatch paper size error

Click on Print, then Properties, then features.
About half way down there is a drop down box under sizing options.
Click on custom
Create a name, and put your width and height in.
Click Save and then OK
Completely X out of the print options.
Then Click
File, print
on the bottom of that screen there should be a scale to paper size drop down box. Scroll to the bottom and your saved name and dimensions should be there.

You will have to setup each individual sized template ones and then just scale to fit each time. Hope this helps

Paper jam when trying to print envelopes.

You need to make sure that your print sriver setting match the setting on the printer itself.

If setting are changed on the printer itself to envelopes then when you go to print click preferences button on print screen and look for a place to change paper type (usually defaulted to letter size.) Change paper type to envelpoes and click ok. Click ok again on print screen and it should print correctly.

Paper types must be configured the same on the device as well as the print driver installed on the computer.

Hope this helps
