Water is dripping from behind the glove box. The drip is slow when the heat is on, and very rapid when the A/C is on. I don't notice much of a drip as long as the heat or A/C is off.

Since it was drilled-- verses-- making the proper fix in the past

Your ONLY option-- is completely remove as much as necessary,
until you have found ALL problems & butchered work & reassemble correctly & replace that drilled item

Don't drive the vehicle in this condition. Interior water leaks can damage vital components such as the ECU.
Check the heater matrix, which is situated in the centre of the interior of the car, up behind the dashboard, roughly behind where the stereo is located. It is surrounded by block, plastic shields, which have to be removed to get to it.
If this heater matrix is leaking, then you will have to replace it ASAP, or otherwise risk overheating, or flooding expensive and critical components within the vehicle.

If it only leaks with the heater on and air-con off, then the heater matrix is your likely suspect.
If you have a leak with the air-con on only, then check your air-conditioning evaporator unit's drain pipe for security and for any blockages.

The drain on your evaporator core housing is most likely plugged. Condensation on the evaporator core drips down into the plastic housing and drips onto the ground through a hose on the firewall on the
passenger side.

Find the small hose on the firewall in the engine compartment. You should be able to pull off that
hose and see if its stopped up. If the hose is ok, you may need to remove some of the ac ducts
under the dash to get to the evaporator core housing to unclog the drain hole.

I have no doubt that thats the problem.

You did't mention if the drips are coolant or water. If it is coolant and you need a new heater core, It is a major job to remove the dash and replace it. If you feel comfortable doing this, I would get either a Chrysler shop manual for that year PT, Or find a Chilton manual on line. Follow all instructions to the letter, because there are steps in the removal procces that you would'nt you don't want to miss. good luck. If it's just water, you probably have a plugged drain tube in your heater box. Find where it drains through the firewall, and blow it out.

Sounds as if the drain pipe has come adrift, and maybe unit has been over gassed. Its usual for the condencer to have water coming from. It condences the gas to a liquid and as it does so it removes the heat from the cabin. Condensation takes place and has to drain away somewhere, so a pipe is provided, which takes the water out of the vehicle. Think your has become detatched

The two drain holes in the compartment beneath the wipers are plugged with debris. Take off wipers.
2. Take of plastic panel under wipers. 3. Clear crud away from drain holes. Pour water in there afterward to make sure it drains properly..You will see it come out the bottom under the car.
4. Clean out any other leaves hope this will hlp you

check the smell of the liquid. if it smells like anti freeze...heater core is leaking. no smell and it could be moisture from the a/c evaporator core (condensation like on a cold soda can) or the windshield seal is leaking.

the water drip line is in the bottom of the a/c unit inside the heating system. it is located behind the glove box if the vehicle is right hand drive.. it has a litlle hose that goes through the firewall into the engine bay and from there its suposed to drip onto the ground. so the ac unit itself may be cracked or the hose could simply have just come off

under the cowl grille where your wiper arms are located is a cabin air filter usually water leaks in from there stick a dollar bill between door and weatherstrip close door and check for slight tension. if bill pulls out without any pressure at all, it could very well be there. make sure you go up down and all around the door

clean the outlet pipe out,should be hanging down around passenger side ,most likely full of leaves or mud
