How to clean suede chair cover?

  • 1 Remove dust from suede by rubbing with a terry cloth towel in a circular motion.
  • 2 Rub smudges, dirt and dried stains with a pencil eraser. Good Housekeeping recommends using a kneadable eraser (available at art supply stores).
  • 3 Sand matted areas by briskly rubbing them with sandpaper or an emery board. This will restore some of the original texture.
  • 4 Dip the towel in white vinegar and gently dab any remaining stains. The suede should appear a slightly darker tan while damp, but not muddy or gray.
  • 5 Allow suede to air dry.
  • 6 Massage the entire surface of the fabric in a circular motion with a suede brush or toothbrush to reestablish a velvety grain.

How do I clean my new black suede shoes??

    Things You'll Need
    • Microfiber cloth
    • Pencil eraser
    • Suede brush
    • White vinegar
    • Suede protector

    Instructions
      • 1 Wipe the outside of the black suede shoes with a dry microfiber cloth. Begin at the center of the shoe's top and move the cloth briskly toward the outer edges. Work around the sides of the shoe, moving the cloth outward and downward to free dust and surface dirt.
      • 2

Rub the pencil eraser on any stains in the suede. Press the eraser into the spot on the suede's surface and move it back and forth in a gentle motion to loosen ground-in debris.

  • Brush the black suede shoes. Take a metal suede brush in your hand and brush the shoe in small circles to eliminate scuffs and smooth the suede back down.

  • 4

Eliminate stubborn stains with vinegar. Place 1/2 tsp. of white vinegar onto the microfiber cloth. Squeeze the cloth to ensure there is no excess liquid in it. Buff the stain with the dampened cloth until the stain releases.

  • 5

Allow your shoes to air dry.

  • 6

Spray the suede shoes with a specialty suede protector to add a dirt-resistant coating to them after each cleaning.

I have a pair Dr Scholl sandals with the cork sole and suede straps. Can you please tell me is there anyway of cleaning them? Thank you Sharron

You didn't say what needs to be cleaned. If it is the straps, any shoe repair shop or any good shoe store should have suede cleaner.
It won't be cork under the bottom and if that is dirty, then an old soft toothbrush with dish detergent would take care of most dirt that you would get on them. You can seal them with something like Klebfast cork sealer to keep the dirt from coming back in at the sole.

White lines in print--looks like pinstripes

I asked the technician at Staples what he thought and he thought it was the ink cartridge. since I was using 3in1 cartridges and it was expensive to buy two; (1) Black with pale magenta and blue plus (2)red blue and yellow,we bought a new printer that uses one colour only cartidges so we can replace one colour at a time and also use a pale blue and pale magenta to get better reproductions. for a little more than double the price we bought an Hp printer Photosmart C7280 on sale with single cartridges. It will pay off, They are a fraction of the cost of 3in1 colours.
