The jets in our tub run if we hold the on/off button but won't stay running once we let go of the button. All air actuation seems to be working properly, the filter is not clogged in any manner, and you can hear the switch activating the pump (little click noise). Any ideas how to correct this? I'm trying to avoid taking off the pump to look at the switch box on top of it.

Actually you can ground them to the copper pipe...any piece of metal material that comes in contact with the earth...hence the word ground....so water supply line or if you ran conduit..and a receptacle box (metal...) you could ground it to that....'
I hope this helps...good luck...thanks for rating my effort...the Fang.

First I would remove the switch hose from the pump. Pinch the end of the hose over and hold it in place with a piece of tape. Depress the button and hold. If the button has little to no resistance then there is a hole in the air line which is causing enough air to leak that there is not enough force to activate the switch. If that is not the problem then just consider leaving the switch in the hole on the tub surface but adding a regular wall swich to the wall near the tub. This move the switch action from the tub to the wall. This a really cheap solution compared to getting a new switch mechanism which is what is broken for about $200.

check behind the access door for a air tube that goes from motor switch to button if either side has come off you have to re attach it just cut off 1/4 inch of the tube before you do. that will make it fit tighter

If it is a air button that pushes in and comes back up, there is a good chance that the switch (which is mounted on the pump/motor) is bad. If the switch is a touch button on a key pad, the problem is in the control box for the pump/motor.

Sounds like a bad heating element. This is located in a stainless steel tube under or around the main control box behind the cover around the tub. It is not hard to replace but should be done by a pro. The part is avaliable online.
