JVC TH-C30 Digital Theater System

I turn off my JVC TH-c30 DVD Digital Theater System using my surge protector because I didn't know which cord was actually connected to theDirect TV Receiver, when I turned the surge protector back on everything came back on except the theater system and it won't come back on. Did I destroy my theater system receiver? Is it worth repairing or should I just replace it?

If there is no power at all, then try bypassing surge protector, check power cable, and check if power cord is fused.

If unit has power but does not start, then it is on protection.

Protect mode will kicking whenever a fault is detected.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.

Digital audio-in not active

Most likely, your inputs are assignable. You probably have that particular input set to analog. Consult your owner's manual. For more information, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me directly through the website. Thank you.

The cord /with the pin on both ends that plug in the back of sub woofer & dvd player, i need the female ,plug that on the back of sub woofer

The part is called a Din connector. You may be able to find it at www.jvcservice.com You will probably need to use the sub-woofer or the system model #, it is not listed under th-c30

FYI replacing it is not very easy.

JVC TH-C30 dvd movies skip

Check your formatting on the DVD recorder, you need to finalize the disk to be playable on "any" player. That should solve the issue. Your JVC is looking for specific code as it reads the disc, when it's missing or not understood by your JVC it will either stop play or skip over it's interperated missing info. Hope this helps

Subwoofer powers on for about 4 seconds and then shutsdown

I don't know if you were able to get the problem fixed, but I had the same sort of problem where it worked and then all of a sudden it stopped working right in the middle of a movie.
I took it to a repair shop and he found that it was the power supply... a $4.00 part.

Universal Remote

I do not know if it works but you can check the website, I am very happy with my Logitech Harmony remote. Probably overkill but you will love what you can do with these.
