My Bosch exxcel sgs45e08 is stuck on pre rinse setting. Have tried resetting/ off and on but still stuck. Any ideas?

Need to do a reset on a bosch sgs45e02
when machine is on, press and hold 3rd and 5th buttons (counting from left to right) and front display will reset to zero. Pump will empty water, you will hear it do this about three times.

It will probably be the water heater element is failing and shorting out.
