After NOTHING worked (including tips from other sites) I took it apart and literally forced the tray in and out of the player. Guess what? The damn thing works like a champ now!!!!!
Remove cover of player, take cotton swab and rubbing alcohol and clean the laser lens. Then it should work fine. If not, it may be an internal firmware problem.
Firs try to clean the lens with CD/DVD cleaning disk (it might be $1-5 depending on store)
Also check if DVD disk not upside down.
Also chek the DVD disk for scratches
Good Luck
I have got exactly the same problem. Thought I had found some discs that worked as the first one formatted, since then all have come up with that crappy error protection message. Samsung really should sort this out.
mine kinda has the same problem but it only happens with one movie Hairspray but it doesn't say error it just says loading for hours until i restart this system in order to get the DVD out. Need Help!!
