My Lexmark x8350 4-in-one printer is making grinding noises in copy mode and won't copy.

The unit works fine if I print something off the computer, but I can't use it tto xerox anything. I never had this problem before. I tried turning it on and off and removing and replacing the power pack. No help.

SOURCE: Can't get Lexmark X5410 to print. Printer is on "Copy Mode"

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

SOURCE: Lexmark E350d printer - replacement cartridge will not work

Seen/heard this before on Lexmark E350.

First place to look is the cartridge.

One side has a plastic gear which is a push-fit onto the end of the Developer Roller.

The D shape (hole with a 'flat') can lose the flat, or the gear can fracture (usually from one or the corners of the 'flat').

If this is it, the cartridge is faulty.

SOURCE: Lexmark C510 is making grinding noises while printing large jobs

I found another posting stating that the culprit was the black toner cartridge. Sure enough I changed our black cartridge and the grinding noise has stopped. No wonder the grinding noise was not happening all the time only when the black cartridge got low. Thanks for the help!

Why won't my Lexmark 5600- 6600 Series Printer print in color?

It could be the print setting on the application where you're printing from. Before you send your print job and hit "Print" button on your computer, check in the Printing Preferences and make sure it is not set to print "Using black ink only.".

How to put printer in print mode

Actually, it does not matter what mode your printer is on when printing from your computer. Whenever your printer detects a print job sent to it, the printer will automatically acknowledge the signal and print the file - no matter if it's on Copy, Scan or Fax Mode.

Grinding noise when printing and cuts paper

There may be something stuck in the area of the perforation, like a paper clip, paper debris or some foreign material. I would look in that area with a flashlight and see if there is something in the Paper feed roller area.Something may have come loose if you had a paper jam. Let me know.

Lexmark C510 Laser Printer- Grinding Sound on startup and while printing

Thank you Krissy! I had the same problem with the horrible grinding noise.

I took out all of the toners and the photo developer and noticed that my Blue toner was leaking all over. After reading your post, I tried replacing the toner. It worked!!! No more noise - and no more mess!

Loud grinding noice before starting to print

Mine makes a grinding noise when scanning or making copies. As long as everything is working, I just tolerate the noise in which the rest of the staff find amusing at first and then ignore it as I do.
