Question about Troy Bilt Pony 6.5 Hp Rear Tine Tiller
Can't find serial number on tiller that has a 6hp motor and is about 30 years old and need a oil seal on the rear tine counter shaft. I also can't find a serial or model number.
I checked my troy bilt and can not find any numbers above the wheel on the housing and I know they have not been taken off. Is there anywhere else to look?

Tine shaft seal is part number 9618
also MTD P/N GW-9618099/GW-9618
Sometimes if you can get it out without destroying it, you can find a manufacturers number on it also and purchase it from a local bearing supplier or take it to them and they can measure and match it for you

The serial number is located on a flat spot just above the right wheel shaft where the gear housing and the top gear cover meet. It will be a six digit number stamped in the metal.
