My 1 year old son got a cd stuck in my Mini HiFi Component system MHC-GX450. I unscrewed the top of the Stereo and I pulled the cd out. Now for some reason, the CD changer will not stop changing. The CD changer changes non stop until I play a cd or unplug it. When I try to hit the power button it still change non stop. How can I get the cd changer to stop changing?
Something is out of timing. When powered up, the unit trys to get to a known state and will continue until it reaches that state. If the timing of the gears has been changed, this may not occur.
I'll try to see if I can create a set of instructions to re-time this.

Unfortunately, I can not get you the pictures required to show how to accomplish the re-timing. This is not a simple task and if off by one tooth, the same problem will continue. I do not have the exact model available to me to take pictures and without that I doubt that I could sufficiently describe the method. This is not an expensive repair for a Sony authorized shop. There are no parts involved. Check in your area for an authorized shop and see what they will charge for the re-time. They will have access to the service manual as do I, but I can not release it due to contractual limitations. Your other alternative is to purchase the manual from Sony. I think it costs less than $30.
