the problem isnt with your camera, its your memory card, and it isnt a problem at all. simple solution- take out your memory card, and on the side there is a tiny switch. all you gotta do is flip the switch. quick and easy. hope that helps anyone.

SOURCE: I put my memory card in my camera and it says

Hi there,

Your memory card is protected and this is why you cant take pictures.
To solve the problem do the following:

  1. Remove the memory card.
  2. On the side of the card you will see a switch. This locks or unlocks the card.
  3. Change the switch to unlocked by either shifting it up or down.
  4. Put the memory card back into your camera.

Your problem should now be solved!!
Enjoy taking pictures!!

SOURCE: It says my memory card is protected

On the side of the memory card, there is a small slider that locks and protects the memory card from being overwritten. Yours may be in the locked position. Simply pull out your memory card form your camera and unlock your memory card by sliding the tab.
Hope this helps,
Andrew

SOURCE: Vivitar ViviCam X014 will not turn on. Memory

Buy a real camera. X014 is cheap and has a foggy cheap lens. It will never take a good quality picture. It is a waste of a 10 megapixel chip!

Vivitar dvr 925hd

In most cases it is the battery. When old, ti can't be charged fully. If you have a multi meter, you could check the battery. The voltage should be a little (a few tenths of a volt) above the value printed on the battery. If it is anything lower then what is on the battery, you can be sure it is not good anymore. Please try charging the battery a few times, if you left it lying for a long time.
Sometimes there is a mechanical failure, like the focus motor can got stuck. It will drain to much power and as a protection the camera will shut down itself, to prevent any more damage. I don't think this will happen with the 925hd.

My vivitar dvr 310 is saying memory is full when its not. I got new rechargeable batteries to make it stay on longer but nothing is working. Can u help me please.

Remove the existing pictures if there are any then use the camera and format the memory. Even better is to buy a new memory card for it. If it will not format and or work then return the memory card and send the camera in for repair.

Good Luck,

Inserted 4 GB memory card. new camera trying to take a pic and I keep getting the message card protected.

Memory cards particularly SD or SDHC have an option to protect the files from accidentally deletion. This is done by moving the small part of the memory card to the 'lock or unlock' position. Try to look for this small switch on the side of your memory card.

Put battery in press on button nothing happens dose it need memory card in as well ?

This camera has 16MB of internal memory, so no card is required to make it work.

This has a rechargeable lithium battery. Rechargeable batteries don't last forever. Lithium batteries in particular can fail early if they are allowed to become totally discharged.

Are you sure the battery is charged? You don't say if this is the first time you have used this camera- if it is new, the battery will have to be charged before you use it. They are supplied new in an uncharged state.

New 2g cards (2) both fit vivitar 8027, but when inserted camera says card full / no file

Hello. If you can go to your menu search for the option to "format". Choose ok. This may make the card ready to use in your camera however will erase everything on the card and possibly pictures stored in your internal memory. So be sure to copy any stored pictures before formatting.

My son got a vivitar 8025 and it wont take pictures it keeps telling us the card is protected. What does this mean and how do we fix it?

did you put an sd memory card into it? this camera will not take pics without an sd memory card (it did not come with any memory to hold pics on the camera itself). the memory card needs to be inserted into the slot right next to the battery:)
