To restore the computer you will need to reinstall Windows from scratch with the installation media. The computer may have come with a recovery disc, this can be used to restore the computer to the point at which it was purchased.

My computer has a virus, I lost my restore disc. The software to restore the system is on the hard drive. When I boot the system, it sticks in a loop at the user log in. I have the win32.netsky virus.

Hia,

try to boot your computer in safe mode. when computer starts, press F11/F12 key to get this option otherwise you can find this from computer manual or from internet as per your model/brand of PC. also you can try to boot computer only on command promt option, might be this way it will allow you to go on to your hard drive C and then you can copy your restore disk files by dos commands to external hard drive or CD/DVD. also you can copy your data before you wiped out everything and restore system.

if nothing works then get ultimate boot cd from internet, burn on empty disk and boot computer from there. this will definatley lets you in and you can copy all data and restore disk. make sure, you setup boot order as boot from CD and computer will boot from CD directly.

let me know if you stuck soemwhere or any issues.

Thanks.

Command promt not openin

Hi,

You may try rebooting your computer to Safe mode w/networking. Try your command prompt in safe mode with networking. Download and run the program on the link. This would fix the registry of your system.

http://tinyurl.com/4paxty

You need to run the registry checker on this application as well. You will have the option to fix the corrupted registry..

If you can access the command prompt. Insert your windows XP or VISTa cd then on the command prompt. run this command

sfc /scannow

Restart your computer.

Kind regards,

Jeff

Wshtcpip.dll error message

Run a system restore. You may need to go back two or three restore points before it fixes the problem, but the restore should do the trick. Try this, let me know, and if the problem persists, then we'll try a different approach.
