In addition to the Pin there is also a small inner "locking" collar about 2mm long that fits into the center section of each link.

I did not notice this collar at first and it fell to the ground when I removed the first link. Without this piece the Pin's will just slide through the links with no locking mechanism.

It fits neatly into the inner portion of the link directly opposite the arrow that shows the direction of removal on the band.

SOURCE: Casio SPF70 Spring Pins

The best way is to take a look on ebay. The only downside is: you have to buy a whole lot (I mean - you can not buy just a two or three springpins). Go to ebay, choose jewellery and watches and then watch parts and tools or accesories.
The other way is to try to find on internet jewellery and watch part supplyers in your coutry and contact them. They usually selling springpins in packs of 10.
Before you buy any of them, you need to measure the distance between watch case lugs in milimeters. The size between lugs is the exact size for the springpins to order.
If you are not happy with that, then you have to try to continue to visit more jewellers till you find the right ones.

SOURCE: how to resize (remove links) from metal band on casio wtg900da8v

You may or may not have arrows inside bracelet. Arrows are pointing the way the pins must come out.
First you have to find out what sort of pins or even screws are used to keep links together.
Examine both bracelet sides and find the side where pin ends have a groove.
Start with a tiny screwdriver and unscrew one of the screws. If it turns, but doesn't come out, that means you have a pins instead.
For removing pins the best would be pin removing tool (approx.5GBP on ebay), but it's possible to do the job without it.
Take a hardened steel needle and blunt the sharp end to the approx. size of pin end diameter using any sharpening stone or sandpaper. Get an old towel and fold it to make a soft base for work (like small cusion). As you don't have a special bracelet holder you will need a pair of helping hands to hold the bracelet steady upright. You will need small hammer and pair of flat nose pliers as well.
NOTE: The pins MUST be driven split end out first, not vice versa. Make sure that the grooved pin ends are facing towel, not the needle and hammer!!!
Now place the watch on the folded towel, take that needle and smallest hammer you have and start driving the pin out using light blows. Do Not hit hard, as you will brake the needle, scratch your watch or even injure yourself. Watchmakers are using 45 gram hammer, so, calculate your strength of blows.
After a few blows check if the split end is coming out and when you see that the end is long enough to grab it with pliers, pull the pin out with pliers. When pulling, do NOT turn pliers, as pins tend to brake when twisted. Use firm grip and your strength to pull the pin without twisting.
After shortening the bracelet or adding extra link(s) make sure that the pins go back EXACTLY the same way as they came out- the blunt end first in the hole and the split (grooved) end last. Before doing that check remaining pins in bracelet to make sure that you put them back from the right side of bracelet.
It is recommended to use plastic hammer to drive pins back in or you will scratch or damage bracelet. If plastic hammer is not available use an old toothbrush handle (or some plastic item) as an absorber. Simply put pin into the hole as deep as you can with your fingers, put the toothbrush handle on split pin end and hit handle, not the pin.
Make sure that pin ends are flush with bracelet. If needed- hit few more times.
Job done!
If you do not want to do it yourself, any jeweler will do it in a matter of few minutes.

SOURCE: how to adjust metal wrist band on casio watch?

  1. Pop out one spring pin to disconnect the band from the watch or from itself at the clasp. If you don't have a special tool for this, a needle or a pin will probably work. A straightened paper clip may be too thick, but they are cheap so you could try it. Now the watch and band can sit flat on the work table.
  2. Examine the links. If some of them have little arrows on them (usually the ones closest to both sides of the clasp), they are removable.
  3. These removable links are held together by a "U" shaped (actually a squared off "U" - sort of like this |_| ) pin that is inserted into the link. There may should be some kind of window-like opening in the link into which you can insert a narrow screwdriver or similar tool or even a small nail (around 6-penny size) and push out the |_| shaped pin. A straightened paper clip is probably not sturdy enough, but you could try it. Push in the direction of the arrow (from tail to point). The links that were joined by the |_| pin can now be separated.
  4. Remove a second such pin from another adjacent link. Now a single link is free and can be discarded (or kept). Reconnect the remaining adjustable links with one of the |_| pins and re-attach the spring pin from step 1 so the band is reunited with itself or with the watch.
  5. Try it on. If it is still too long, repeat the process. Good luck.

On most brands, there are pins that form hinges for the links of strap. You need to push them out to remove links. Usually you would find arrows marked from inside of the metal bracelet which show you the direction in which to remove the pins. You can remove it if you have a small watch maker's screwdriver but you have to be careful. or get one of these ..

which should help you to remove the link pins safely without scratching.

How di i change the batteries in my Casio Pathfinder 2782

  • Choose a quiet, well-lit room where you can replace the battery in your Casio Pathfinder watch. Prepare a table, desk or other clean, flat surface where you can perform your watch repair. Put down a soft cloth or piece of craft felt to protect the face of your Casio Pathfinder watch from being scratched during the battery installation process.

  • 2

Set your Casio Pathfinder watch face-down on the soft cloth or craft felt. Use an optical-sized Philips screwdriver to remove the four screws that secure the watch back to the body of the watch. Set the screws aside, but don't lift the watch back.

  • 3

Slide the watch back off of the body of the watch very slowly. There are three important springs held underneath the watch back; it is essential to remove the watch back slowly to avoid losing them.

  • 4

Lift the three springs out of your Casio Pathfinder watch using a small pair of metal tweezers. Take note of the length and placement of the springs as you remove them. Set the springs aside with the other disassembled watch components.

  • 5

Take the black rubber protective disk out of your Casio Pathfinder to reveal an identically-shaped white plastic disk. Remove the white plastic disk and set it and the black rubber disk aside. Use your metal tweezers, if necessary, to lift out the rubber and plastic disks.

  • 6

Release the battery strap that holds the battery in place in your Casio Pathfinder watch by pushing the battery strap latch to the left. Remove the old battery from your Casio Pathfinder using a pair of small plastic tweezers.

  • 7

Pick up your replacement watch battery with the small plastic tweezers and insert it into the battery compartment of your Casio Pathfinder watch. Replace the battery strap and push it gently with the tip of your plastic tweezers to snap the latch in place.

  • 8

Touch the "-" and "AC" terminals on your Casio Pathfinder watch with the tips of your metal tweezers for at least two seconds. This helps ensure that your watch will work properly once reassembled.

  • 9

Put your Casio Pathfinder back together to complete the new battery installation. Start by replacing the white plastic disk, followed by the protective black rubber disk. Use your small metal tweezers to replace the small watch springs in their correct locations. Replace the back cover of your Casio Pathfinder, insert the four screws and tighten them with your optical-sized Philips screwdriver.

I am trying to figure out how to shorten the wrist band on my Casio Edifice EFA-119.

mcdevito75 here, If your Casio has a metal band, you can remove 1--2 links, this takes a special tool called a link remover, best bet is to look for a small watch repair shop in your area. If your Casio has a strap, the buckle may be able to move up the strap to fit your wrist, if so, move the buckle up the strap to fit your wrist and cut offf the exccess strap. If not, you"ll have to replace the entire strap. Hope this helps.
