Ink streaks

Ink streaks are usually caused by a buildup of died in on the print heads. There are two print heads in that unit. Remove one at a time and look for build up - clean it if you find any. Once you finish cleaning both print heads you will need to do a print head cleaning routine in the HP software to clear out any in clogging the print nozzles.

Kyocera Mita 2050 there are streaks of toner appearing on the pages printed.

If you send a print job or print a report from the copier and there is no streaks then the problem is most likely the thin **** glass to the left of the large glass. It just needs to be claened.

If the streaks are happening when printing and copying then the problem is most likely your drum unit (MK-410) or possibly the fixing unit (FU-410), the fixing unit is the one that gets hot.

As the drum gets old it can cause print/copy issues and the cleaning blade that cleans the drum gets to the point it doesn't clean the drum properly causing streaks.

The heat roller has a teflon coating on it and as the roller gets older the teflon starts to come off and can effect prints/copies.

The drum unit should be replaced every 150,000 pages and the fixing unit every 300,000 pages on the KM-2050.

I hope this is helpful,
Shawn

Dirty printing

1) try cleaning the heads this is usually a job within the printing programmes,
2) using a cotten wool Q tip "the baby typr" and metholated spirits "do not use white spirits or turps too greasy" clean the inside "tram rails " that the carrage slides on "
dont use to much liquid though"
also bleach is very good at removing opld ink that lays on the rails " it is time consuming but well worth the time

Streaks on printed page full length even after installing new cartridge

Check the glass (the one the paper rests on). The underside of the glass that is. This is what the light 'sees', so, it will print this!

When I print photos, they have uniform vertical streaks.

Issue: Banded or streaked prints
Solution: Change the Print Quality Settings (Windows)

Change the Print Quality Settings (Windows) The Quality setting controls how finely ink droplets are placed on the printed page. Depending on the type of paper being used a higher Print Quality setting does not always insure a better print. Print speed will decrease as the Print Quality setting is increased. Follow the instructions below to change the print quality settings in the Canon printer driver for the Windows operating system through a printing application.
  1. Click 'Properties' in the Print dialog box.

Note: Depending on the Application software, 'Properties' may be displayed as 'Preferences'.

  2. Set the desired print quality in the 'Print Quality' section.

  3. Select 'High', 'Standard', or 'Draft / Fast'.
To set more detailed print quality settings, follow this procedure:
  1. Select 'Custom' and click 'Set'.

  2. In the Set Print Quality dialog drag the slide bar from 'Fast' to 'Fine' to select the print quality.

    win_print_quality_slider.jpg

Note: There are five options in 'Quality'. However, selectable options are limited depending on the media type.

  3. Select 'Auto', 'Dither', or 'Diffusion' from the 'Halftoning' section.

Streaking when printing

If it's not the Cartridge, then it's almost positively the fuser, which will cost more than a new printer to repair
