My gas range display changed to "5Ab" and does not work anymore.
While pressing CLOCK and the up arrow to change the time, my display blinked out and will only display "5Ab". The other buttons no longer work, like oven, broil, timer, cancel, etc.
I tried unplugging the stove for several hours, but that had no effect. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

The PF on your control indicates a power failure and should be removed by pressing the cancel button. The 5ab code indicates the range is in the SABBATH mode.
If a power failure occurs when the SABBATH mode is set, the oven will return to the OFF mode and will turn the power OFF to the oven.
To ENABLE SABBATH mode:
* Open the oven door * Press STOP/CLEAR * Press both the HOUR "UP" and "DOWN" arrow pad at the same time - and hold for 5 seconds. SAB ON will disappear from the display.
To disable SABBATH mode: Repeat the steps above and SAB OFF will appear.
To set the SABBATH mode for use during the SABBATH/Holidays: * Press BAKE * Pres TEMP "UP" and "DOWN" Arrow pad to enter a different temperature other than 350 degrees. (Between 170F and 500F) * Press COOK TIME * Press HOUR/MIN "up" or "down" arrow to set cook time * Press DELAY START to set a delayed cook time (optional) * Press and hold TIMER OFF for 5 seconds SAB will appear on the display indicating it is ready. * Press START * To STOP cooking - press STOP/CLEAR * To exit the SABBATH mode and return to normal operation - press and hold TIMER OFF for 5 seconds.

Instructions from the operating manual PDF found through Pioneer Electronics - Canadian site...
Setting the clock Use these instructions to set the ctock. 1 Press SOURCE and hold until the unit turns off. 2 Press AUDIO and hold until clock appears in the display. 3 Press [LEFT ARROW] or [RIGHT ARROW] to select the segment of the clock display you wish to set. Pressing [LEFT ARROW] or [RIGHT ARROW] will select one segment of the clock display: Hour - Minute As you select segments of the clock display the segment selected will blink. 4 Press [UP ARROW] or [DOWN ARROW] to set the clock. Pressing [UP ARROW] will increase the selected hour or minute. You may have inadvertently set your range to "Sabbath Mode". The display actually reads "SAB". This is a feature that allows the consumer to disable certain features of the range in order to honor the sabbath. Usually this disables the oven, but allows the consumer to still use the surface burners. You cannot defeat it by unplugging the range or turning off the breaker either. You will either have to wait 72 hours for the mode to clear, or figure out how to turn it off.
To turn the Sabbath Mode on/off on most Maytag models, you simply press and hold the "Clock" button for 5 seconds. On other models, you press and hold the "Stop/Time" and "Cancel" buttons down at the same time for 3 seconds. These instructions should be in your owner's manual.
If these instructions do not work for you, or if your model number is different than what you posted this question under, please post back with your correct information so that I may be able to assist you further. I hope this helps you.
Loof for the tech. sheet in the unit , either in the control panel [top] or the bottom under the drawer. It should tell you how to enter different modes on your range.

Turn the system on and press the "Clock/Timer" button (located above the eject button for Deck 1). The clock will appear. To change the time, simply hold down either the < or > buttons (the ones you use to change radio stations and begin CD/tape playback). Press "Clock/Timer" again to lock in the time.
Here's how you set the time (from page 16 in the manual):
1: press SOURCE and hold until the unit turns off. 2: Press AUDIO repeatedly until the clock appears in the display 3: Press (left arrow) or (right arrow) to select the segment of the clock display you wish to set (hours, minutes) 4: Press (up arrow) or (down arrow) to set the clock.
- To cancel clock settings, press BAND - to save clock settings press AUDIO until the display stops blinking
same exact thing happened to me! Its not reading *5Ab* it's reading "Sab" as in Sab MODE...PRESS AND HOLD THE CLOCK BUTTON FOR A TOTAL OF 4 LONG SECONDS!! AND WAAAM!! Your stove is fixed and back to normal..with the Time! lol
Here is the link to the DEH-P3900 website page (sorry is the closest i could find, but changing the clock is the same);

You can download the manual from there - you have to register, but it's free.
if you want a quick way, pioneer says:
"SETTING THE CLOCK
How do I set the clock on my single CD player?
For most Pioneer single CD players, you can set the clock using the following steps:
Press and hold the SOURCE button until the unit turns off.
Press SOURCE and hold again until the clock appears in the display.
Press the left or right arrows to select the segment of the clock display you wish to set. (As you select the segments of the clock display the segment will blink.)
Press the up or down arrows to either increase or decrease the numbers in the blinking segment.
Once the clock is set correctly, press the SOURCE button to exit."
Hope this helps - please post again if not :)
