My washer has a small, medium, large and super plus load size selector. No matter what the setting is it fills about 1/2 full. The rest of the cycle seems to run correctly.

This unit does not handle a super large load as it advertised. When you put a super large load, the sensor is over-sized and will not move on the next cycle.
The water level is controlled by a pressure switch connected to a long rubber hose that goes inside the tub. If the switch is defective or if the pressure hose is blocked the machine may under-fill.
Check also inlet hose and water pressure from the house.
SInce the washer works ok on the small load size yet overflows on all others the problem is going to be with the water level switch and it should be replaced to remedy that problem.
The part number for that water level switch is W10339229 it could be purchased at your local appliance parts store or online at searspartsdirect.com apdepot.com partselect.com apwagner.com repairclinic.com
The motor is locked out until the water level requirement is met. The level selector switch is probabably having issues, try rotating it back and forth between small / medium / large loads. If it starts to fill on larger load sizes, it will be the switch itself. If it doesn't do anything at all, it could be the switch, but most likely it is the level sensor. Both are located in the compartment behind the controls panel.
