Loading Australian Maps on Nuvi 200

Usually, if you buy a (new) TomTom with a "free" lifetime maps, it is only for the (one) existing/current map(s) installed on the device. So, if that applies to your TomTom, you'd be able to get maps for South Africa (for life).
To get a TomTom map for Australia, just go to the tomtom website, (www.tomtom.com) and click on "Maps & Services" ... and you'll be able to select and buy/subscribe to the map(s) you want.

No, you will have to buy a new PS3 in Australia to resolve the issue.

It is never recommended that you install the maps in the unit, there is a slot in the unit for an SD card you will have to install your Australian maps to an SD and insert them into the GPS.

Getting stuck at the Loading Maps page or rebooting before finishing is a sign that the system software or firmware of your Nuvi has become corrupt.

There are three steps to take to get your Nuvi running like new:

1. Back up your Favorites.
2. Perform a Hard Reset.
3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

You can purchase maps for download at https://buy.garmin.com/shop/buymaps.do?null&ra=true. Garmin does sell the maps for Australia at that site.

There are other maps available from third parties which are compatible but you'd have to confirm that from the seller.

I'd be interested in this too. I have a Nuvi 200W loaded with US maps. I'm now in Australia and would like to load Australian maps but can't find them.

Where did you download the Australian maps from? If from Garmin, contact Garmin for the unlock code. Maps have to be unlocked to a specific unit.

If you downloaded the maps from the internet, you will still need to contact Garmin for an unlock code.
