I recently purchased an Airport Extreme N Router for use with a personnel MacBook Pro and an HP Laptop. I set up the router and both laptops can connect to the router for internet use with no problems (wireless and wireline).
However, I work remotely from home using the HP laptop with Windows XP, connecting to my work server through a Cisco VPN Client.
Everything worked fine with the VPN when i was using a Linksys router. Now that i've installed the Airport Extreme, i am able to connect with the VPN but it bumps me off periodically about every 15 minutes. The intenet works fine but the VPN continues to lose its connection.
The odd thing is that I am hardwired to the HP "through the Aireport Extreme" so i am not using the wireless feature. I've tried using both wireLESS and wireLINE but either way the router is conflicting with the VPN.
If i bypass the Airport Extreme and hardwire direct to the Comcast Modem off course the problem goes away and the VPN stays connected for days.
What is the issue with the Airport Extreme and the VPN Client on the Windows machine? IP address conflict?
