SOURCE: i think ma kicker kx1200.1 amp is blown or ma kicker L7 are gone

that would be the amp. sorry to say. when a wire crosses over, it sends a shock through the amp, there are a few things to try just to see if you fried the amp. the first thing to try is to move your ground to a different location. second thing to look at would be the fuses. alot of times the fuses will blow at the slightest shock. the amp will still turn on if you have an amp with 2 fuses, it just wont be getting all the power it needs, which could be causing your problem. also, it is worth the hour and a half to mount everything down in your vehicle. you might check the kicker website, because i have herd rumors that kicker offers a lifetime warranty on almost all of their products. best of luck, and i hope you didnt fry your amp.

SOURCE: kicker zx 1000.1 green light flickers and no sound

The first thing I would suggest is to check all connections to the amp and speakers, especially the ground. A loose ground can cause the problem listed. You can test this by temporarly running a ground from the amp to the battery neg. . If the amp fires up ok then that means your grounding point for the amp should be checked and cleaned and reattached firmly. If you have a meter(multitester) set it to ohms and check the impedances of the voice coils in the woofers. If one is cooked it may be shorted and tripping the amps protection. Always hook thing up with the sys off and then turn on and test.

SOURCE: MY KICKER ZX 750.1channel amp "FLIP FLOPS" from

Are you getting any sound output at all from amplifier?
Is there a popping or banging coming from speaker?
It could possibly be a faulty output mosfet that is ocillating cause DC to leak onto the speaker output causing it to flip into protect.
please advise
thanks,ben

Why is my Kicker dxa 120 5.2 protection light and power light on at the same time and not putting out any audio

Your Kicker has gone into protect mode and will stay that way until the component level problem is found and fixed.

Kicker kx850.4 protection light stays on know power light

Check power make sure you have solid 12 volts. Disconnect speakers, shorted speaker can cause protection mode to engage. If still in protect mode will need to repair. Kicker does out of warranty repairs on kx series amps or try T.I.P.S contact at linearpower.com. Iirc Ray @ tips was one of the engineers at kicker back when kx series was introduced.

I have a kicker 500.2 red protection light is on and red light on top of amp flashes every couple seconds. Have checked all connections and other amp in truck works good. I bought two of these amps and...

Disconnect all the wires except the three main power wires, ground, 12v battery and remote. Now, turn on your radio, if the protect light is still on then there's an internal short in the amp. If the light turns green, then there's a short in either the auxiliary cables or the speaker outs. If it turns green, then troubleshoot the other wires that plug into the amp by connecting them one at a time until the protect light comes on, which will tell you that there's a problem with that speaker/aux wire.

The red light is on i dont know why my amp is kiker kx.500.2

Disconnect your speaker wires at the amp and test. If it turns normal (green or whatever) check your speakers and wires with a meter for a short. If it stays red, the protection circuit is cooked and needs to be serviced. Hope this helps.

Hooked up to a kicker L712. Worked fine now its in protection mode. When i turn it on the light is green for a second then turns red. It wont stay green. What should i do? Is it the circuit board?

perhaps you are pushing the amp to hard check that the gain control knob is not turned all the way up. This will cause the amp to overheat. If not that check all of the wiring to the amp for a possible short.

Generally, if a Kicker amp has the power light lit and the protection light isn't lit, it's working. Are you sure that you have signal feeding the amp?

Are you sure your speakers are OK?
