I want to clean the filter in my washing machine as it leaves many lints on the cloth. But I am unable to find the filter for it. Can you help me?

Do you know the year your washer was made ? If so you can go to the fisher and paykel website to look up the users guide wich will give instructions on how to clean the automatic lint system.

Fisher & Paykel washers do not have lint filters inside the tubs as they are designed to drain away any debris from the wash during the drain cycle.

Fisher Paykel sells a drop in lint filter assembly which you simply place in the center tower before you add detergent. Works very well but you do need to take it out after each wash and clean it. We've been using on for two years and have not had a repair bill in that time where we were having one a year to clean the water pump or diverter valve.

Try the following- use high quality detergent- like tide. Do a full wash with nothing in it every now and then, separate lights and darks and towels/fluffy stuff from synthetics, use a less rigorous wash- like wool or permanent press

I am getting a lot of lint on clothing is there a cleaning process with my smart drive pride 5.5 fisher & paykel washing machine

clean the lint filter in the machine
put any clothes that are likely to shed lint or are susceptible to collecting lint in a wash bag before putting in the machine
tip

With only two fairly clean adults in the house, I use the front loading Kenmore...

This advice is for preventing or getting rid off that awful mildew smell associated with front loader style washing machines.

The first thing to do is to CHECK IN AND AROUND THE RUBBER DOOR BOOT (called a bellow) for small articles of clothing (like socks and underwear) that may have gotten lodged in behind the rubber. Pull the rubber back where it meets the wash tub and look behind it. It is common for small items to get stuck here, become forgotten and start to mildew. You should check this area after each wash and clean it periodically to get rid of the formation of soap scum, mold, and mildew. HINT: When you get ready to wash a load of towels, take a dirty towel and clean the door boot thoroughly (including the areas behind the rubber). Immediately place the towel in the wash and run it on a sanitary cycle. This way you eliminate the need for cleaning rags.

PERIODICALLY RUN THE WASHER ON A CLEANING CYCLE. Place the washer on the hottest setting you have (usually a Sanitary cycle) with nothing but bleach in the wash tub. Some newer models actually have a “Clean Cycle” available now just for this purpose. This helps keep the wash tub, drain lines and pump sanitized.

CHECK AND CLEAN THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER. Accumulations of debris in the drain pump filter can also cause odors. HINT: If you own a shop vac, pull the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum on the line. This will drain any residual water left in the tub, pump and drain lines BEFORE you remove the drain pump cover. This will prevent a messy clean up later.

LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN IF POSSIBLE. When not in use, leave the door open to allow the tub to air out and to keep mold and mildew from forming on the door bellow. I know this may not be desirable in some households with small children. If too much mildew forms on the rubber and it cannot be removed, replacement of the bellow may be required.

NOTE: This problem is common with front loader style washing machines. The doors on these machines have an air tight/water tight seal that is great for sealing the washer during the wash cycle, but can be terrible for collecting small garments and for not allowing the tub to properly air out when not in use. Following these simple preventive measures can go a long way towards preventing harmful mold and mildew, and towards extending the life of the door bellow and pump.

try cleaning your filter in washing machine,if this dosent fix problem, sounds like you need a water pump,i have had a front loader for 8 years now and had the same problem, with me finding the filter with alot of cloths lint, and other things it was stopping the water pump from pumping out water, try cleaning first and checking water outlet hose were water is pumed out might be blocked with a coin, these few steps before you spend money on water pump.

Hi just read your posting.Unfortunately the FISHER@PAYKEL top loader washing machines have no lint filters. If a build up lint occurs, fill machine with hot water and put 2 cups of dish washing powder and let it soak over night and then drain the water in the morning. Please reply if this posting is helpful and If you need further assistance feel free to reply back.Looking forward to your reply.

Black marks on clothes

I had a similar problem. We has placed the waste water hose into an old tub next the machine. The plug hole int he sink has become blocked with lint. When the washing maching was pumping water into the tub, the tub would fill with water, which would rise a level higher than the washing machine waste hose. What this appeared to do was cause the machine not to be able to properly pump out water, leaving this horrible back stuff in the wash which would end up all over the wash. Ensuring the plub hole in the tub was clear solved the problem immediately!
