I don't know where you are in the world, but I'm from the UK and have found this user manual on their website, here's the link http://fujifilm.co.uk/consumer/digital/digital-cameras/d-slr-long-zoom/finepix-s1000fd-119757/Support remember to click on the link for the manual and not the one for the brochure as the brochure is just a short reference guide to the specs of the camera.

As for a secured picture? I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to delete that if it is stored on the camera's memory card. Try different ways of accessing the photo, one by plugging the camera into your PC through the USB cable and connecting that way, alternatively, remove card and try using a stand alone memory card reader if you have one and read the card that way.Either way, there's no real reason why you can't delete photo's you have created yourself and after all, the memory card should be able to be wiped clean of data if you so wish.

The place you bought it from, if bought from new, should have the manual for the camera without a doubt, but if you have bought second hand then it's very unlikely that they would have it, unless it was misplaced before selling it on to you.

I hope I've been of some help to you though.

Test the card in another device(computer)to see if it works.If so the card capacity may be too large for the camera.
