Batteries aren't charging up. Chair want go.(Golden Compass)

Batteries aren't charging up. On the charger when it is plugged in shows a bright white light in the number 2 section and a green light on the end. Why is it not charging?

Was there a point in time when you left the chair unplugged for more than 4 or 5 days?

That`s most likely your problem. When left uncharged for that long of a period, the batteries will discharge below 12 voltDC. The charger only recognizes 12 volts and up. So the charger can`t bring your batteries back up over 12 volts.  You will need to get them on a slow charger, like a car charger or have them replaced. If you know someone or have a voltmeter, set it on DC and check each battery.  If it is below 12 VDC,they need to be put on a slow charger or replaced.

Have a golden compass power chair replace battery's & are fully charged have 2 amber lights flashing

Hello Michael. Fully-charged batteries should indicate a green light on the battery charger and should illuminate all the five LEDs on the Joystick. The batteries should take about 8 hours to be fully charged. If you charged them for less hours there is a possibility they were not fully charged. If you feel you charged them for enough time and the battery charger showed a green light, that is frustrating, but there is a chance either the charger or the batteries are faulty. Substituting both the charger and batteries or either of them may be the best solution.

My Alante Jr power chair stopped working. when plugged in ,the charger light is green which means a full charge but the led lights all ten of them on arm continuous go from side to side without stopping....

The batteries are too low for the charger to work. You need to take the batteries out and charge them separately with an automotive battery charger. This may take 2 or more days for each battery. When the voltage on the battery gets past 10 volts, you can put them back in the chair and finish the charging with it's charger.

No flashing LEDs. Joystick and charger indicate full charge.

Time to replace battery - not taking a charge properly.

The Battery does not seem to charge so I want to remove it and see if it will charge if connected to an external charger. How do I remove the said batteries?

Remove the batteries .. Every Chair is different .. but if the batteries aren't charging it's probably that they were left uncharged for a time and they dropped down enough that the charger dosn't recognize them .. If they drop down below around 6 volts the charger won't charge them ... I have taken batteries out and charged them individualy with a car charger .. but they never come back .. at best half life.

When I plug in my Jet 3 Ultra 4500, it seems to charge - the charging lights come on - but it never charges. In fact, I can't get it to move at all, even when plugged in. I think I am using the...

when you plug in the charger do you get any amp reading on the meter located at the rear of the chair near where the charger cord plugs into the chair. When you plug in the cord the meter should deflect and read 6 amps or so. If you aren't getting any deflection of the amp meter then either the batteries are dead or the charger is bad. If you have a voltmeter you can set it to 200 volts dc and plug the leads into the charger port located under the front of the joystick Plug the leads into the 2 outter holes of the port with the charger plugged into the wall you should be reading 27-30 volts. Unplug the charger and you will be reading the battery voltage and fully charged they should read 25-27+ volts. If you aren't reading 25-27 volts without the charger plugged in you will need new batteries( anything less than 10 volts will not let the chair turn on) if you aren't getting 27-30 volts with the charger plugged in then the charger is bad and you can get or borrow an off-board charger and charge the chair thru the joystick port Hope this helps

My uncle left my hoveround chair out in the rain is this the end of my chair? when i plug in the charger the light on the charger lights up green but the chair wont come on

Angel the charger light should only turn green when the chair is fully charged. If you know the chair isn't fully charged then there is a problem with the charging system. if the circuit board in the joystick got wet then that is a serious problem. If you have a voltmeter you can check the battery voltage thru the charging port located under the front of your joystick Set the meter to 200 volts dc and plug the leads into the 2 outter holes of the charger port. Fully charged you should read 27-30 volts if you aren't getting any reading then the batteries are completly dead or there is a problem with the charging circuit (the reason you are getting a green light on the charger) The joystick will have to be replaced sorry If Medicare paid for your chair then they will pay 80% of the repair costs to get your chair working again If they did contact Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 to get it fixed thru Medicare Hope this helps

My jazzy is used but i bought new batteries for it but the key pad will only cut on when the charger is attached. and wont cut on at all with out the charger.

super hmmm new batteries? well I would check the battery connections because you should be getting power to the joystick. The charger is providing power thru your joystick to be able to turn it on. Now when you plug in the charger are you getting any movement on the meter at the rear of the chair? If not but staying at zero then the charger is not charging the batteries and your batteries are not hooked up correctly. You will have to remove the seat and cover over the base to have access to the batteries check all the connections and make sure that if the plugs are colored that the red and white plug is plugged into the red and white plug going to the front of the chair and that the black and white plug is plugged into the black and white plug going to the front of the chair. If the wiring is ok then get a meter and read the voltage across each battery they should read 13+ volts fully charged. Plug in the charger and read the voltage at the batteries again if charging then you should read 16+ volts. If the voltage doesn't change then the charger isn't working correctly and if reading a good voltage then the batteries are bad and need to be replaced. Hope this helps

Pronto M6 chair will not work. When the power switch is turned on, the LED light flash Red followed by three Green. I can't find what this error code meas.... Pls Help thanks Phil

Phil the red means battery is low and the green is a speed limit code because of the low battery if you have charged your batteries and you still get the red then you need to check the charger after charging all night does the yellow light on the charger turn green? if when you first plug in the charger if the red light is on and the other light is green then there is a problem with the wiring or connection to the batteries from the charger and you aren't charging the batteries. if when you plug the charger in and you get a red and yellow light then the charger is working but you don't ever ge a green light and the battery level gauge is still showing red then you need to replace the batteries Hope this helps

Chair not holding charge

It's your batteries. If they charge at all, your charger is okay, if not at all, new charger is in order.

Don't run your batteries down past half-disharge if you can avoid it. Charge daily or even more often if you are a road warrior, but try to keep them topped off. They don't have a memory.
