It sounds like you have a print job stuck in the print que. When this happens the print jobs after the stuck one will not print either. You will need to clear the print que and reprint the jobs. Here is a link to an article showing how to purge the print que and get your printer back printing again.

SOURCE: printer in queue, need to print

It could be a print job that has stalled.
Open the print queue (on the taskbar by the system clock)
and cancel all the documents that are there ,then reprint and see what happens.

Also make sure the printer is plugged in and online.

SOURCE: I just installed a new system Windows7 and Home

What you can do here right now is to clear any print queue , to do that follow this procedure.

Click Start then go to programs then accessories then go to system tools and then look for Command prompt , then right click Command prompt and click RUN As Admin then once the black window is open type there NET STOP SPOOLER and hit enter and once the process is done type this next command NET START SPOOLER and hit enter that should clear any print queue and now try to print.

SOURCE: printer won't print. I

Good Day Nanawhit!

That happens all the times when first print job encounter a problem and stops printing and it was followed by series of print jobs. Some reasons for stop printing could be a printer out of paper and printer not set as default printer.

The best way to fix it is to cancel all pending jobs. When print jobs window is cleared off pending print jobs, restart your PC and your printer. Then go to your printer and make sure it is the default printer.

After that try printing a test page. Once a test page is successful, you can now print as many as you want.

So far answers don't coincide with the directions I've been given, which is "Press the WSB Button for 5 seconds."

The print queue is what is locked up. Try deleting the items in the print queue.
Start by pausing the print queue. Then delete the items in the queue one by one.
When you have the last print job in the queue it will probably be jammed up in the transition between the computer and printer. Switch off the printer. This should cause the printer on the computer to become offline.
Try deleting this job abain. If it dissapears then turn the printer back on making sure the computer understands the printer is back online. Then try printing again.
If it does not dissapear then you will need to restart the computer to free up this job. When the computer is back up and running check the print queue again. If the job is gone then turn the printer back on and try printing again. If it is not gone then try once again to delete the print job and it should dissapear this time.
Once the job is gone and the print queue is empty turn the printer back on and make sure the computer understands it is back online again.

After 1st item requests go to queue & you have to restart pc ro print

Look at your printer settings. There should be a setting which releases each job in the queue rather than putting them on hold until released manually

In Windows 7, items put in the print queue at home won't print when I get to the office.

I don't see how this can be done, because there are 2 different print queues in question. Not to mention the lag and buffer required by the printer. So when you disconnect communication the job hangs.

Besides the spooler at work my lie on a dedicated print server, especially if the printer is on a network and and not attached directly to you PC.

My Lexmark s605's print queue won't clear, and so the printer has stopped working altogether

Please follow the steps below to clear the print queue and restart the print spooler of your computer.

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)

2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.

3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Only scans not print anything

did you download the software and/or drivers necessary for your printer on your computer before connecting the usb cable from the printer to the pc? You can get the software necessary to use your printer for free at hp's website www.hp.com.

If you have the software and its still not printing, try clearing documents out of your print queue. Click on the arrow next to the clock on your screen and find the picture of the printer. Right click with your mouse on the picture of the printer and open the print queue. Delete any unprinted items in this area and close the print queue. then try a test page.

My Dell V510 printer will not print. I have checked the cables, I have checked the ink cartridges, I have unplugged the power supply, I have re-started the computer and nothing helps. Items in the print...

Try running Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs in the queue.

Can you copy a document under the glass? B&W and color?

What is the correct model of the printer? V505 or V515? Dell does not have a V510.

You can try reinstalling the printer using the instructions located at...

Dell V505 & V505w All-In-One (PRODUCT) RED™ Printer owners thread (W7)

Dell V515w Wireless All In One Printer - (RED) owners thread

Virus programs and firewalls will block communications.

Hi,

right click the items in print queue and delete them. You have to wait a few secs before the print queue is clear. You can also try to reprint the same thing by right clicking the item in print queue.
