SOURCE: unidentified network which has limited connectivity

i also encountered this kind of error messages using lan connection, the mail reasons for tehis is wit in the lan card it may not compatible with your os or the lan card was corrupted.. best way to resolved this is to reset "winsock" of your pc..
if youo are using windows os, just go to command prompt and type " netsh winsock reset" then your dhcp settings will be reseted, after yoy recieve a message on your screen, type again "registerdns" then reboot your pc and test, i tried this steps many time since.. if still the same issue, you need to install another ethernet adapter on your pc, maybe your lan was corrupted..

SOURCE: linksys router unidentified network....receiving full signals but showing unidentified network ...i hv checked SSID and key both are correctly entered....

Try resetting the router and then configure it again.
To reset the Linksys back to the default settings - Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router with the power ON for 20 secs. then release the RESET button.
To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

Does it ask you for the wireless security password while connecting?
I think you can try creating a new wireless network on the router and see if that works.

Unidentified network which has limited connectivity

You're network card may be disabled, and that would be why you are unable to connect to yout network/the internet through your network card, to check this go to your network settings, right click on the "Local Area Connection" and if the option is there to "enable" then click it because your card has been disabled, if disable is there in stead then I'm stumped. with regards to "unidentified network" This usually comes up when someone has a wireless network created, but they have the settings made to not broadcast (show) the SSID (name) of the network. This is done for extra security, because in order for someone to connect to the wireless signal they need to know the type of encryption used, the key or passphrase for the encryption and on top of that the network name. Limited connectivity means that you are "connected" only in the sense that you can see the network connection, but you are unable to do anything with it.

One of two HP laptops connects to network but quit on Internet

did you play with your wireless router settings..?? When it is shown as unidentified, you have most probably set as hide network name . other computers may show up the name if you have saved the network settings on them at least once.

Drivers are fine as they are able to detect the network.

Linksys Wireless-N pci adapter model wmp300n

If it says local or unidentified network that means you are just connected to the router on the network but not through the internet. Try to go to manage wireless network, remover your network there and add it again, connect to your own network and make sure to type the correct network key., then check again. You can also try connecting to other wireless network to further isolate the problem.
