It is a very small usb (http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/15/kingmax-unveils-worlds-smallest-usb-flash-drive/). It is perfectly clean. However, none of the computers recognize it. PLEASE HELP!!!

Your friend likely pulled the device while it was updating the index without "ejecting" it. We all do it, but it can lead to this often fatal problem. Right clicking on the drive, you'll see an option: "EJECT". This doesn't physically send the drive sailing across the room, it simply should be called:
"Shut Down External Media For Safe Removal".
When not done, this can cause the index to fail, and as a result, when re-inserted it basically shows as a drive with no information. No index, no way to tell what's on it, how much space is available, etc. It will usually recognize that the drive is connected, but won't respond.
To the computer, it a 'Schrodinger's Cat'.
It's both full and empty simultaneously.
Sometimes if you plug it back into the computer that it was in when the failure first occurred, THEN powering the computer on, it MIGHT still have a copy of the index file and MIGHT reload it. Otherwise, there are programs that can recover the data without indexing, but it's a chore to reconstruct the files. Data reconstruction and recovery services can work, but are really expensive. What's the data worth to you is what you need to ask yourself. EJECT your media!! This happens all too often!
(If the item that the media is plugged in to doesn't have an eject feature (such as a music player), shut down the item before removing the media)

SOURCE: usb devices not detected

Well, I am not sure about Hp photosmart, But most printers, Like all hard drives, you must install a CD-Rom disk in order to do this, I see that your CD-DVD-Drive was not working also, It should've came with a disk to install it on probably floppy, or your old driver, Hope this helps.

Check it another computer. If drive is still powerless, then you most likely have a failed flash drive.

SOURCE: pearl mp3 player

ok, to all the RCA people with Pearl MP3's...
If you have the "can not connect" or "corrupted files" errors upon connecting the USB, please do the following *note: you will loose your songs and data.

Corrupt files:
Plug in your MP3 via the USB, go to "Start Menu", choose "My Computer" select the drive where your Pearl is, and Right click, (you may need to wait a few mins and let it find it ~1-3 mins), when the menu pops up, choose "Format".

(again, this may take a little bit ~1-3 mins)

then go to http://www.rcapearl.com/download.aspx and download the firmware. install it and follow the directions EXACTLY as written.

remove your MP3 and reboot. (NOTE: DO NOT DO THIS WHEN PROMPTED BY THE COMPUTER DURING THE FIRMWARE FLASHING... ONLY AFTER YOU ARE DONE!)

Now you can reinstall your songs and continue to use the drive.

the RCA unit is cheap. you paid for a cheap unit, you got one. To prevent this from hapening again, you can choose the "Safely Remove Hardware" Icon from your system tray (lower right hand corner, next to your clock). The corrupt files are files which are left behind by trying to use a resource file in your computer. If you break this connection before the files are transfered back, you have part of a file... I.e. Corrupt.

--OTHER NOTES--
Player turns off automatically:
This is a feature in the MP3 player. go to the "My Settings" in the MP3, and set the power saver feature to NONE.

Songs skip or sound bad:
ALL MP3's have issues like this. if the music file is bad, then the MP3 will either skip it, or try to play it.... horribly. To fix this, simply find a better version of the file.

Good luck and enjoy.
P.S. - If you want better user performance from a MP3 player, then shell out a little more green for a good reliable one.

Hard disk not detected sometimes

I can think of 3 possible causes to your problem:

1. Faulty cable - try replacing the cable by borrowing a working cable from a friend. If this solves the problem then you need to buy a new cable

2. Lack of power - some USB drives especially those for high capacity drives require extra power aside from that provided by USB. If you do not have a separate power leading to your drive, check if there is a separate power slot and run a cable from it to your outlet/USB slot. Just make sure that the voltage levels are correct.

3. USB Slot - some laptops' USB slots do not produce power enough to drive a hard disk. Other devices may work (e.g. keyboards, mouse) but not hard drives. Try to use another slot in your laptop. If this works, remember to use the same slot next time.

Hope this helps.

My broadband stick has become lose, i have to hold it to be connected to the internet, is that repairable?

I assume you are talking about a USB port that is loose. A usb Port is repairable but unless you have a hot air station I do not recommend you try it yourself. If you have another USB port try the broadband stick there if you have the same problem it is the stick that is the problem not your port. Good luck.

My usbest usb2.0 flash drive is no longer working. the computer does not recognize the drive

Ok, so I just searched Google for about 5 hours trying to figure out how to fix the USBest USB2flashStorage USB problem. What happened is the part of the memory that tells the computer how to access the drive and how big the drive is got corrupted. You need a program called "Super Stick Recovery Tool" made by kingmax. Don't worry that your drive isn't a kingmax drive, it will work anyway because it is just going to completely write over that little part of the drive that got corrupted. just go to "http://www.kingmax.com/en_04_download.asp?usn=2" and download
Super Stick Recovery Tool V1.0.2.19.rar
you can open the rar file with winrar or 7-zip. Inside is
Super Stick Recovery Tool V1.0.2.19.exe. Run it as administrator with the drive plugged in and click "Update"
about 5 minutes later-- Problem solved!

*Warning* This erases everything on the drive, I have no clue how to get data off of it before you do this, but at least you can have a working jump drive rather than a paper weight.

Just so you know, I only tested this on a Verbatim 8 Gb drive that had the exact same problems you described. I tried lots of other tools and they didn't work. Super Stick Recovery Tool Rocks!

M-Audio Keyboard 49e disfunctions after some time

Sounds like it might be a power supply issue. Unless it is mains powered.

Try removing all other USB devised. If that doesn't work its worth try a Mains Powered USB hub.
