whenever I put the arm down to make ice, water leaks from underneath the fridge. I usually have to stop the water with a large piece of rag. Why is this?

Good question. TO give you an idea Id have to know what kind of failures they were.
1 Grounded, shorted, or open windings indicate an electrical problem. This could be caused by external components or power fluctuations. Or a manufacturer defect in the motor.
2 Stuck or not pumping indicate mechanical problems with what could be the compressor its self (again a manufacturer defect) or non defrosting trouble or contaminated refrigerant oil residue from the first compressor.

To me replacing the drier on any compressor and on most all refrigerant related problems is a requirement. This helps eliminate the contamination in most cases. If you purchased a compressor the drier should also be replaced on domestic refrigerators its usually a copper colored piece 4" to 8" long about 1" dia and same size tubes on both ends close to the 1" area. If your not getting this part replaced each time I feel like your not getting quality work done with comon refrigeration practices. And could lead to such a problem.

Back about 15 years ago one of the big appliance manufacturers were making their sealed compressor parts from composite materials that would not hold up in all environments of use. Compressor failures were rampant. I cant say this is the reason but I can say it cant be either.

Frigidaire Side By Side Not Cooling

That sounds like the start relay is buzzing. Unplug and lets check the compressor to see how hot and if too hot to hold your hand on the top of compressor we need to leave it unplugged until we find out if the start relay, start capacitor, overload or if the condenser fan stops after running a short while. You probably have a bad compressor. It's internal parts are held up with 4 springs and one of them has probably broken and causes the compressor piston to hit the side of the comp. housing. This will happen when the ref. shuts off. To be sure, if you turn the ref off at the controls then you should hear the noise in the back. If it is less than 5 years old you can get it replaced under warranty. if more than 5 years old it will just be noisy. it will most likely last several more years like it is. Let me know if I'm right.

My Frigidaire #LSR7333PQ has had two compressor failures in 3 yrs

Compressors fail due to:
bad capacitors.
bad start relay.
low voltage.
refrigerant leaks.
refrigerant restrictions.
bad fan motor.
to name a few problems.
You should be under a 5 year seealed system prts and labor warranty.

I bought a Frigidare refrigerator today. Warranty needed?

its really just up to you. I am a service tech in grants pass oregon and i know compressors dont last anymore. Its because in the last 10 years they have switched from r12 freon to 134a. 134a has higher head pressures which make the compressor go out. If the compressor warranty isnt too much money i would do that warranty. You dont really need the others.

Frigidaire FRS26R4A Vibrating Noise

Finally called a service technician. He said the compressor was bad and needs replacing. Fortunately, I'm in the 2nd - 5th year of my limited warranty so parts and labor are covered. He also said that the FRS26R4A is "junk" and it helps to support his family.

Frigidaire side by side

Sounds very much like it is the compressor that is malfunctioning. It should still be covered by warranty by the manufacturer.

Frigidaire side by side

there could be a partial restriction in the capiliary line causing higher that normal high side pressure in the system when the compressor is running
have the tech to replace the suction line along with the compressor let them know that this is the third one gone bad

If you are reading the ohms between all the terminals you should get a reading. If between one you said there was no reading. Try touching one lead to one of all three and the copper tube outside the compressor, if you get a reading the compressor is burned out. In the case of the readings between all three teminals if one shows nothing the internal bi-metal overload is open due to hard starts. Make sure the power is off when doing this and the wires are unpluged from the compressor pins, there position

S R C      start=S Run=R and C=common
