I have an Alpine car DVD player and it plays the move, we can hear it we just can't see the move. How do we fix it without having to get a new dvd player?

The DVA-5205 has to have an infrared remote module plugged into it to receive the signal from the remote. I have one also and it doesnt have one and it wont do anything without it. I'd like to know where to get one if you find out. Alpine seems to stop making everything for older models once they come out with new ones.

Im guessing that if you can hear sound but have no picture and this is newly installed that your unit is wired to your parking brake as a safety feature. You need to disconnect it and connect the wire to the radio ground to bypass it.

Was this unit recently installed. Has it played before. Be sure that the wire to the parking break is also connected. These dvd players will not play if the brown wire is not connected to the grond side of theparking break. If you need more info, please feel free to ask.

You need to wire the foot brake, its a 12v positive to the wire off the switch on the brake pedal going to the brake lights and at the wire coming off the e-brake is a 12 volt negative.

Just press FM button. Blue Light turn off, and you can listen radio without interference. Gustavo (Alpine Buenos Aires)

This DVD head unit will play back any disc
whose region number is 2 (or All). DVDs
with a region number other than those listed
below, cannot be played on this DVD player.

The only fix i've found for this (without replacing parts) is to turn the unit off and back on and it will read the cd.

move all power lines away from unit and connect all grounds to same spot

it isn't bypassed properly. recheck bypass wiring.

Can you provide more information? What kind of vehicle is this in? Do you hear audio when the Tuner is selected, or when you're playing a CD?
