No sound coming from center channel speaker

check surround sound settings, or another channel" this is your voice speaker, or hook one of the other speakers up to the center channel to see if that center speaker is good , you can also use a battery like a 9 volt to test the center speaker just touch it to the speaker wire momentary. and listen for a cackling noise if it makes a noise it is more than likely good

Sony Home Theater System DAV-HDX277WC - I get sound and video when playing a DVD, but no voices. Tried many different movies. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Verify that all speakers work for test tones first. The center carries most of the dialog. It's in the manual, as is your symptom (page 101).

I have a panasonic SA-PT550 theater system, i put a brand new dvd in it says no disc. Ive noticed that it is very dusty as its sat on the carpet under my Viera flat screen. is there a way dust can get...

If it does that with only THAT disc, maybe it's the disc.

Anywhere air goes, dust goes and the more dusty, the more contaminated an optically-dependent medium like a disc player will become.

I'd also be concerned about ventilation and overheating.

Rear spekers no sound

Is the source signal of a surround sound type? Also, be sure that the rear speakers are on, (if your receiver has a speaker switch on it), and they are hooked up properly.

No sound in center rear channel home theater

Must have a 6.1 or 7.1 source for this channel to work.

Does your receiver have a 'test' mode in which it pipes pink noise through each of the speakers... try that to see if it is actually hooked up correctly.
