Pulley broken on York Fitness rower

So someone messed around with my rower and pulled the pulley in a way that it is now completely slack and does wind back into the rotating mechanism (if that makes sense).

How do i get the belt around the motor pully wheel on a white knite cl637wv

If you can't push the tensioner pulley back far enough to allow the belt to go around it, disconnect the tensioner spring, route the belt, then reconnect the spring. If it's a question of having adequate strength to push against the spring and still have a hand free to route the belt, find something to jam against the tensioner to hold a bit of slack in the pulley. Make sure the jamming tool (large screwdriver, block of wood, etc.) is sturdy enough to hold securely, and well-braced. An ill-timed slip could cause severe hand injury.

If your dryer does not have a belt tensioner mechanism, the motor bracket probably has belt adjustment slots in it. In that case, loosen (but do not remove) the motor mounting bolts that go through the slots, push the motor over a bit to give you the slack you need, route the belt, then pull the motor back to tighten the belt and retighten the motor bolts. Sometimes a tight belt can be rolled onto the pulley by starting it on one side of the pulley and turning the pulley by hand while pushing the belt along in the direction of the turn, but it is better to mount the belt with slack in it; excess stretching causes premature failure.

It sounds like the spring in my washer has broken. It made a loud sound during a cycle and now the basket is completely off balance and barely moves. I was wondering if the spring is worth fixing or if...

This could be an easy fix if the counter weight came loose from the top of the tub shell which is a common problem. Pull the unit out from the wall and removed the back panel to inspect the counter weight, spider pulley and belt. If the counter weight is not broke you can reattach it to tub shell and retighten the bolts. If it is broke it is about $30.00 plus shipping. Inspect the spider pulley which is attached to the tub with the belt around it. If it is not broken, you can turn the pulley by hand to check the tub bearings for free movement. Make sure the belt is in good shape and attached to the motor spindle and spider pulley. If the spider pulley is broken you may have to order a new pulley. If you have to remove the spider pulley you may want to use a gear puller from an auto parts store to remove the pulley. The belt is easily replaced once you know the below procedure:

1. Place the belt around the center of the motor pulley stretching the belt to the spider pulley leaving no slack in the belt.

2. Keeping the slack out of the belt, place the belt on the outside rim of the spider pulley as much as the belt tension will allow you to do so.

3. Keep the tension on the belt and slowly rotate the spider pulley counter clockwise until the belt is completely on the spider pulley.

Rotate the spider pulley several times to make sure the belt stays in the center of the spider pulley. If the belt is not centered after several revolutions you need to remove the belt and reinstall it after moving the ribs of the belt on the motor pulley in the direction which centers the belt. If it was my unit I would fix it unless you have to replace the outer tub shell (approximately $300.00 for parts only).

I am trying to replace the serpentine belt on my dodge truck and cannot get the belt to go on. Is there some trick to it that I am missing? Thanks,

there is a tension pulley that you will need to turn to have enough slack to get the belt on, this pulley is about 3 inches in diameter, get a 1/2 inch ratchet and put a short extension on it, in the center of this pulley there should be a square hole that the ratchet fits in, put the ratchet on loosen and pull up on the pulley, this will give you the slack you need to get the belt around the pulleys

Need to replace serpentine belt on 2006 Nissan Altima. what are steps?

the first thing to do it locate the under hood diagram that shows the belt route. if there isn't one than be sure to make note or make your own diagram of the belt position and how it "snakes" around the pulleys and in what order. the next thing you need to do is locate the tension pulley. once you know which pulley is the tensioner you place a wrench and socket on the bolt in the center of that pulley. and turn it counter clockwise as you do you should notice the belt getting some slack as this happens slip the belt off the most accessible pulley. after you get the belt off the pulley be careful not to pinch your wrench on anything.once the tensioner has been released pull the belt out from around the other pulleys and replace with the new on pulling it around all but the most accessible pulley at which point you can reapply tension to the tension pulley and pull the belt around the last pulley before releasing and putting full tension on the belt take a good look and be sure that the belt is on all of the pulleys correctly then let off and voila thats that hope this helps

How to put recoil spring and pull rope in echo 2400 brush cutter

The recoil housing is held on by four screws around the housing on the corners, the pulley is held to the housing by one screw, all tension needs to relieved from the spring before removing the pulley. you can either cut the rope if you are replacing it, or you can pull some of the rope out, lining up the notch in the pulley with the outlet hole, catch the pulley and hold it from rewinding, and using the slack in the rope pull a section back in and up through the notch, the pulley can now unwind its tension without winding up the rope. Now remove the pulley, it should leave the spring in the housing. If the spring is very rusty it should be replaced, if you've sprung the spring out and have a mess, be prepared for a little fight, you can try hooking the outside of the spring in its tab in the housing and while forcibly holding that in place begin coiling the spring back in place, or try gathering the spring into a large coil and holding the coil with a pair of pliers begin shrinking the coil's diameter by winding it up from the center, last resort and the one I'd recommend if you're looking at a rusty spring, get a new one from an Echo dealer, it comes pre-wound and a nifty retaining clip, it simply slides into place in the housing, and as it goes into place the ring will pop loose. Now for the rope. Install the rope by putting the new piece in the spool and tying it off, thread the other end through the housing from the inside out, and put it into the handle and tie it off on that end, now place the spool into the housing being sure to engage the spring lightly, now install the screw so the spool doesn't come out, pull the slack rope up through the notch in the pulley and begin winding the pulley in the direction it turns when the rope is normally extended, after about 4 turns drop the rope out of the notch and let the pulley wind up the rope, if you have slack repeat a couple turns until there is no slack

Installing the belt around the dryer drum and pulleys. I have a broken belt and a loose pulley at the bottom of the dryer. How to I get the pulley on? Where does the pulley attach to create the proper...

you will have to take the drum out to see where the tentioner was inserted , it is in line with the motor pulley, should be a couple holes it fits into.
putting the belt on is easy , with the lined side of the belt down on the drum take the slack at the bottom with a finger holding the belt , move the belt toward the tentioner until it touches the tentioner pulley
then with your other hand help bend the tentioner pulley with the belt on it until you can touch the motor pulley with that finger , slide it off your finger onto the motor pulley and the belt is on.
let me know if you have any questions.

Broken belt on a Whirlpool dryer

Fix it yourself, and you do not need to remove the tub. Put the belt around the pulley and pull the tub towards the belt. You may have bought a belt that is too short. But upon a belt breaking they will stretch pretty bad also
