For some models pressing select and the + volume button for 10 sec resets the device and it is recognized by the pc on connecting. Check ur manual to check the way to reset ur device. You can download the manual from http://www.sandisk.com in case you have misplaced it. Drop me a mail at [email protected] to let me know if the solution worked for you.

Windows does not recognize the device ?

Hello raigangarkam,

There's a chance that that particular USB slot on your computer may not be working.

You may try to attach another USB device on that port to check if that works or not.

You might also want to try & attach your 2GB Cruzer flash drive on another USB port or another computer & check if it recognizes it.

If it still won't be recognized on the other computer, you might need to replace that 2GB Cruzer USB Flash Drive.

Hope this helps.

Try going to the control panel, system, hardware, device manager. Find your USB devices in the tree. Right click on them all, and uninstall all of them. Reboot your computer and you may be able to install your USB devices from scratch.

If this dies not work, post your computer type and what system you are running: XP? VISTA? [WIN95? :-) ]

Windows XP doesn't recognize my new Canon SD1100 camera even after loading software as instructed.

It is very simple you guys! I had the same problem with my Windows XP SP3 and SOLVE IT EASY!

1. Unplug all your USB devices. If you have hubs, unplug only the devices attached to the hub, not the hub from the computer.

2. Open the registry and delete the following 6 branches.
H_L_M\System\ControlSet001\Enum\USB

H_L_M\System\ControlSet001\Enum\USBPRINT

H_L_M\System\ControlSet001\Enum\USBSTOR

H_L_M\System\ControlSet002\Enum\USB

H_L_M\System\ControlSet002\Enum\USBPRINT

H_L_M\System\ControlSet002\Enum\USBSTOR

3. Restart your computer and attach one by one your USB devices. If you have hubs, first let the OS to recognize your hubs, then attach the USB devices.

Your Digital Camera should be recognized immediately by the system. If you don't have your Digital Camera software installed you can use Windows Scanner and Camera Wizard to upload your photos.
