NIKON D3100 battery flickers while charging

The manual says that if this problem persists, the battery has drained out. But my camera is less than an year old, occasionally used. How come the battery is dead so soon? I am unable to charge it, have tried charging it for 24 hrs, still shows low battery.

Sounds like you got a lemon battery. if it is less than a year old it should still be under warranty - contact Nikon and see if they will replace it at no charge

SOURCE: Nikon D40 Error Message

Get the kit changed. That should not happen right out of the box, but make double sure the next time around, you charge the battery completely before using it the first time. Not doing this can cause problems.

SOURCE: On my Nikon d80:

The "fEE" error indicates that the camera is not communicating with the lens. The lens may not be attached to the camera properly, or if it has an aperture ring, it may not be set to f22 (or the highest aperture number of the lens) - which is normally marked in orange. Select this aperture and lock it using the aperture locking switch to prevent this from occuring again.

SOURCE: D50 wont power up

I have the same problem as well. It is not the battery. I took my camera to the store and had them put a new battery in while there. It never turned on. I really like this camera. I once took about 100 continuous shots. It was great. But now nothing. The D60 camera I have is a higher mega pixel, but does not do alot of things that the D50 does. I wish someone really had the answer as to how to fix it without a high cost.

SOURCE: Nikon D60 won't turn on and the battery is

Usually, when your battery has been in the charger long enough for it to be fully charged, the indicator light either changes color, or turns off. This indicates that the charge is complete.
Does your light do either, change color or turn off?
If neither of these works right, check your user manual, usually in the back, which will tell you what the indicator lights mean.
If your camera and battery are doing what they are supposed to be doing, then you may have bought a faulty camera, or the battery which came with it was faulty.
Be certain to read the manual very carefully, to be certain that you are following the instructions properly. If you have done everything right, then return the camera and or battery to the place from which you purchased the camera, and have them check it out to ensure that all is proper.

The fault could be either defective batteries or a defective camera. All you can do is to try a full initial battery charge (24 hours) and if that doesn't work return the camera to the retailer for a refund or exchange.

Clear your mind, get another battery or see if you are pushing the battery in hard enough to make contact the light should blink untill charged up if it it drained it may take awhile to charge and is the charger plugged in the wall. are the battery contacts facing the right way and making contact that's a common mistake. HERE'S AN IDEA, take your camera to BEST BUY and use their battery to see if your camera works

The battery of my nikon D3100 was not functioning..im confuse if it is the charger or the battery got a problem..how to fix it??

Is there a light on the charger to indicate that it is powered up when you connect it to the mains socket. If so then the adapter is probably OK and the battery is faulty or worn out.
Try purchasing a new battery and charge it in the adapter.

Nikon d3100 bran new battery wont finish charging !!

You have one of a few problems. Either your new battery is defective, which does occasionally happen, or there is a problem with your battery charger. The other possibility is that your camera has a problem; possibly a short circuit that is draining the battery. If you have a spare battery and it will take a charge, your new battery is probably bad.

My nikon D3100 got wet from rain...what will i do?

Remove the battery imediately, the memory card and the lens. Place the camera body, lens and memory card in a warm dry and place for several days to dry out completely.
When the camers is dry, insert the battery, lens and memory card, turn on the camers and set the date and time.
If the camers does not work charge the battery and try again.
If it still does not work then you need to send it to the Nikon service centre for repair.
