Similar Sound Problem...

I also am having a sound issue with my ACER Laptop. I have the Aspire 5515 with windows vista. How can I turn the On-board microphone off?
I record music, but I have a nice studio mic that I record with. I want to record through the Studio Mic, using the front Mic Input. I don't want the extra sound going through the crappy mic on the keyboard. Also, there is no "Live sound" coming out when I speak through the (Studio) Mic. I can only hear the monitored sound that was recorded afterwards. At least I think that's the extent of it...

Right click on the speaker icon on your task bar, select recording devices, from there you should see your mic inputs and change the levels through the properties button.

You should use the P/N as printed on the batteries and also the voltage and current rating (higher current rating will give you longer run time)

I have installed windows 7 operating system on my acer aspire 5515 laptop,but i do have a video graphics problem can any body help me to find VGA driver for it??
Unfortunately, Acer does not offer Windows 7 support for your laptop. Therefore, you won't be able to download a video driver specifically designed for Windows 7. However, you can try using the Vista driver (usually those drivers are compatible with both Vista and 7). You can download the driver from the Acer official website.

Aspire 5515 dvd wont play sound
Does the laptop play CDs?
If so then when you start a DVD and before you play the movie, go into the audio setting and configure the speakers for laptop stereo speakers.
If you cannot hear music from the CD then check :-
1. The audio settings, volume not set to minimum and mute is not ticked (enabled)
2. Device manager - sound device is enabled and working, if not re-install the sound driver.

Sounds Like a driver issue. Uninstall the Sound drivers in the device manager, and check with the Acer website and download the appropriate drivers for your laptop.

I had a similar problem when my driver wasn't installed. Go to the manufactures website and find the soundcard driver for windows 7. If you cant find the soundcard driver designed for windows 7 try downloading the vista one

Can't find keyboard for acer aspire 5515-any other model same sz
I'm not 100% but the 5500 series all use the same board. What is the DFE model number on the back of the keyboard?

If you can't find a keyboard for it, you could always use a USB desktop keyboard until you find one.
