The touch panel just recently went out so I was told by a GE tec that I needed a new module. He said i wasn't getting power to the panel. I ordered the part and replaced it. The panel works but the dishwasher won't start. I have to open and close the door firmly several times before it will start. What is the problem?

Solution Found!!
Checked for power to dishwasher. According to the manual, shutting off the breaker for more that 30 seconds resets the dishwasher. It did!!! The dishwasher works fine now. THANKS!!!

It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

The only way we have been able to fix this is to turn off the breaker to the dishwasher for 5 minutes and then turn the power back on. The dishwasher should reset.
