Blu ray wont play any blu ray dvds but will play dvds
Can be these reasons:
1. Physical situation of the Blu-ray discs.
2. Blu-ray region code protection. (in this case, you can use Leawo Blu-ray Copy to remove the region code on the disc.)
You can check on this post for more reasons and solutions:

As newer bluray movies come out they are constantly tweeking the format. More then likely you need to update your bluray players firmware or software. There should be an option under the menu for the bluray player to update the unit of course this will require that you have it hooked into the internet via ethernet cable or wifi network.

First confirm that the firmware update that you used is in fact for that very model.
Then check the region code for the discs in question.
Try the update again.

Please inspect the HDMI connector on the back of the Blu-Ray player to make sure none of the pins (top and bottom) are not push back inside the connector. If there are return the unit for a another unit.

I had this same issue & contacted Vizio through online chat on their website. They had me unplug the player for one minute & plug it back in. When nothing came up, they told me they would replace it for me. Since I've only had mine for 2 weeks I opted to take it back to the store & buy a Samsung.

I would try and update the firmware and see if you can get that to work. How old is the player and did you buy it new. If you nothing works I would have it repaired under a 1 year warranty.
Thank you,
