Download AND install the drivers; or try this first;
1) Go to Device Manager.
WinXP: Start > Right-click on My Computer > Left-click on Properties at the bottom of the list > Click on the Hardware tab > Click on Device Manager.
Win Vista & Win 7: Click on the Windows logo button > Right-click on Computer > Follow the last three of the above.
In Device Manager click on the + sign to the left of - Sounds, video and game controllers
Right-click right on the name of the audio device. Examples Realtek, Creative, and Conexant; for a few. In the list click on Uninstall.
A Microsoft \'Squawk Box\' will come up. "Warning you are about to uninstall this device" (No kiddin\' Microsoft. Ya think?)
Click on OK. (It is OK, I assure you)
Close all windows, go back to your desktop screen. Restart your computer. When Windows fully loads again, you should get a pop-up out of the system tray, "Found new hardware device".
And another one, "Found Realtek xxxxx audio device" (Using Realtek for an example)
Or go to HP Support, and look up the computer. Drivers & Downloads Download AND install the audio driver.
[SAVE the driver. In the small download window that comes up next; allow the file to fully download. DOUBLE-click on it. Click on Next, Next, and Finish; at the bottom of the next 3 small windows. Restart the computer ]
Or state the HP computer\'s Product Number. This is on the back of the desktop computer, next to the Windows product key in a white Service Tag. P/N = Product Number.
According to the manual, to max out the board's RAM you'd need to install 2 1GB sticks of DDR RAM. It can support DDR400/333/266. 2GB is it's maximum capacity.
If it's a SATA you don't need to configure anything. If it's a PATA then at the rear you will find a small set of pins with a tab across one of them: just look at the label of the hdd it will be shown the position to put the tab to set it up as slave.
