My 1995 36" TV screen sometimes collaspes to a vertical line and the screen is black with that verical line. It will go back to a regular full screen and work okay. Do I need some vertical part replaced? Otherwise it works good - just very seldom this happens. Thanks Jan

The horizontal line in the screen is the problem cause by vertical output driver. The vertical output is located at the verical section.Maybe theres a loose connection in vertical section or leaked capacitor. It also the cause of deffective vertical ic.So its better to repair and trouble shoot by the authorized technician. If you have knowledge in Tv.Try to replace the leaked capacitor.
Hi
The problem of your teevision is what we called the vertical line problem. The problem is in the vertical section of the board. There are many of cause of that problem.First is either loose connection, the circuit at the vertical section have cold solder so its need to resolder using soldering iron.Second,it maybe no vertical supply, its better to check the 12 volts dc supply of vertical ic output.if thers no supply in the ic,there a open resistor near the flyback.try to replace.Third if theres no loose connection and have a voltage supply the problem is either leaked capacitor or deffective vertical ic output.
Commonly in that problem is the loose connection, try to resolder the verical section.
Tapping all around PCB for coldsolers?U resolder the vertical the IC and all the components around the IC?Still have the same reseult.Replacded the verical IC.
you have a bad master and slave inverter board these are the skinny boards that go verical on the back of the unit
take you unit apart remove back and look at the back of the tv face down on a blanket remove all the screens take the back off remove those two board going vertical look up both parts on google or call or go to shopjimmys.com
