New la crosse technology wind speed weather station model # CA87092 set up.wind speed and outdoor temperature showed until this morning.new batteries used yesterday in setup. what is the problem?

The instructions for your station call for a specific set up procedure. Batteries should be installed in the transmitter first with time allowed for it to initialize and begin sending data. After installing batteries in the receiver, you should see wind speed and temperature displayed. BUT, here in the real world I have a Lacrosse receiver currently displaying a balmy 67 degrees inside and a not-so-balmy - - outside. I believe the alkaline batteries used in the transmitter lose efficiency or freeze at low temperatures. Warmer weather restores the outside temperature display.

My nextech wireless weather forcaster wont display out side temp. I have replaced the bats and held down the down arrow button

I dont have this unit but you might look for a reset button inside the battery compartment (or on the back, some times labeled).

Also, standard procedures are, remove batts. for a few minutes and follow the manuals instructions to start it up. Look for manual on internet. Also check for trouble shooting tips at manufactures web site.

You tested the "new" batteries, right? Long shot is leave batteries out over night to be sure unit is off. Try to find a reset button in manual or manufactures web site. Think about opening unit up with screw driver and look for reset. Did you follow instructions to select channel on both inside and outside units? My Weather Station has 3 chanels and I have to match them.

The instructions are specific regarding the order of battery replacement. First, the outside followed by a pause to allow the ouside unit to begin communicating. Next, the inside unit with a pause until results are displayed.

Outside temp

Remove all batteries. Reinstall batteries (or new ones) in the outside unit. Install batteries in the console. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING! Wait until the outside temperature displays on the console. Make any adjustments necessary.

I followed the instructions to replace the AAA batteries, but the outside temp won't properly register.

I think yolu answered your own queistion there. Its gone faulty, probably in the logic chip. These things blow so easily and are made so cheaply- even the best of them- that when you return them under warranty they toss them in the garbage or recycling and hand you a new one. Its not repairable. Take it back or send it back. Demand a new one. A reputable dealer or company will not argue.

Oven temp not correct

One thing you should know about a gas oven is that they do not keep a constant tempature like an electric oven does. So going by a tempature gauge in the oven can fool you. The way a gas oven works is by "average" tempature. In other words if you take the highest and lowest tempature readings and average them out you will get the actual tempature. For example let's say that you set the oven to 350. Well first it will take about 10 to 15 minutes for the oven to properly pre-heat. Once it is preheated you can listen to the gas burner and watch a tempature gauge(flook meter is best). When the gas burner shuts off the oven tempature will continue to rise. When the oven tempature stops rising then you will take that reading. Then wait for the oven burner to come back on again and watch the tempature gauge. When the tempature gets to it's lowest point and stops then take that reading. Do this several times and then take all the tempature readings and add them together then divide that number by the number of readings you took and that will give you the actual tempature. Within 5 degrees is great but anything over 10 degrees can affect your cooking. This will give you an idea if your oven is out of calibration or not.

There is a calibration procedure. The instuctions are located in the owners manual and can be found here http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-85131.PDF

Just go to the "Thermostat Adjustment" section for the proper calibration procedure.
