SOURCE: sony pfm42x1 colour problem

Check the settings in the menu and make sure you have the input properly set to RGB and not color difference settings (Y, RY, BY).

SOURCE: we just got a new

Does say a dvd player give sound when connected to the same input? If you have determined that the source is good and the speakers are turned on in the menu then I would replace the main board.

We have our cable box hooked up to the tv and get a great picture but no sound. The previous owners had a stereo system hooked up to the tv and we are simply trying to get any sound at all. We went into...

Ok, I need more verifications:
1) Your TV is Fujitsu Siemens PlasmaVision P42VHA40 Monitor which does not have tuner? If not, please provide the make and model of the TV.

2) What kind of cables you are using to hook between the cable box and the TV? HDMI? Component video (Red, Blue, and Green cables withe RCA plugs)? Composite video cable with Yellow RCA plugs?

3) Are you trying to get the sound to come out off the TV speakers or through the stereo system?

Iwas wondering if i could use it as a tv if i hook my cable box to it?

You can, if your cable box has RGB component or s-video or composite outputs and if you can change channels through the cable box.
RGB will give the best picture.
You could also run a vcr into the monitor and use the vcr to change the channels if the cable box will not do the channel changes for you or if the cable box does not have the right outputs.
You will also need a audio output jack on the cable box or vcr to run out to a receiver or stereo or to the monitor speaker bar

HOW I CAN USE M-15N MONITOR AS A TV?

Two choices: 1) get a tuner for your computer and watch the live or recorded show the monitor (Similar to watching a download from the networks or HULU.com)
2) get a set top tuner with an s-video out. Connect an S-video cable to a video cable signal adapter (Mini-dim 8-pin connector to S-VHS and CVBS jack) and connect that to the monitor. Then hook up speakers to the set top box.

I hope this helps.

Sony vaio monitor with internal speakers

There should be an audio cable coming out of Monitor, you'll need to plug that cable in the ouput jack of sound card, turn on/increase the volume of the speakers using the switch, slider present on the monitor and then check. you may also consult the manual that came along with the monitor.

Sony str-dg820. having a problem getting video on tv

Hook up Composite / Component Monitor Out wire from receiver to TV video input because receiver will not change analog input into HDMI
You need to connect receiver and TV through analog video terminals as above.
Actually you are expecting that receiver will convert DVD player and Xbox analog video input into digital HDMI signal for TV and This is incorrect.

Picture but no sound on Hyvision LCD monitor MV190

I had the same problem. The speakers are mounted below the the LCD Monitor. There is no internal connection between the speakers and the TV Audio. There should have been a short patch cord in your box having one jack on one end and two wires with mono jacks on the other. Plug the stereo jack into the audio out on the monitor and then plug the other jacks into the left and right side of the speakers (the wires should be marked L and R). If you cannot find the jack, I'm sure that you can find one on line or get one from Radio Shack.
