How to change language for sony ericsson w960i

Hi Stephen,

I had the same problem happen to me when I was twiddling with the language buttons just 2 days ago. Today I found out was language it was in by using the google search. Typed in one of the words and just asked what language it was. It turned out to be Indonesian. I then went through another search to get a translation of a few words from Indonesian to English and from there I found out the Indonesian word for Language and looked for that on the screen and from there found the word English.

Hope this helps: -

- Press Menu (icon)
- Press Settings (blue clog wheel at bottom row)
- Press Phone Setting (phone and a clog wheel) 4 row from the top
- Press Language (first row)
- Press English - row will highlighted in blue

To save this setting I pressed either the middle button (that takes you back to the last screen)
I'm not sure but it was one of those 3 buttons.

1. Turn the power off. If your Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
2. Hold the Left and right buttons located beneath the display
3. Press and release the Power button
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to hard reset your Xperia X10

Dear Friend ,
go to settings->phone settings->Languages->Default language>English and save the settings. It should work

Starting from the Main Menu, press 9 (Tools).

Then, press 1 (Control Panel).

Under the Control Panel, select the last item (Other).

Under the Other option, select the fifth out of 7 items available to choose from (Select language).

The command shall then give out the available languages to which you can set your phone.

this problem can be persisting due to some reasons like the phone has got wet or it has fallen from height or battery is not able to give complete power to the phone. try changing the battery or if still problem is there than contact any repairing shop or contact me with some more details.
