Model number KEBS208DSS6 ser:XJ2501152 Both doors will not close tightly enough to maintain temperature or to keep the oven lights off. When opened fully, the doors are not horizontal, but appear to open too far. Thanks, Fred

Place a hammer handle between the door and the frame at the hinge location.
Carefully apply pressure on the door to push the door closed.
This will often re-set range door hinges.

Oven light wont turn off

you didn't send the brand name and model number but you might have a switch up on the console that will keep the oven light on or open the door and push in on the switch if the light goes out you could have bad door hinges,if the hinges are bad the door can't close tight enough to hit the switch and they'll have to be replaced or the switch is bad.

We have a Jenn Air Wall over that the door will not close air tight. They have replaced the hinges but you can actually stick a thumb between the top part of the oven and the door. They say it's supposed...

there's a door gasket that seals it not the metal part of the door so you might be able to stick your thumb in there as long as the seal on the door is closing tightly to the frame, when you open the door it should be on a 90 degree angle, before you had new hinges put on the door, most likely the door sagged lower to the floor and didn't close properly,if you think alot of heat is escaping you could have a bad door gasket.so open the door, look at it from the side,it should look like an L or at a 90 degree angle or even up a little,if it is the hinges aren't the problem if you think to much heat is escaping, call whoever did the work for you and have them check the door seal or gasket same thing.you didn't send the model number so i don't know what seal you need,go here and watch video should be similar and you can put your model number in to find correct part

hope this helps you out,if heat is coming out with door closed and you have new hinges this is most likely what's wrong

I turned on the self cleaning and the door locked but is the heat supposed to go on and off

Yes. It is maintaining a temperature hot enough to burn off residue but not overheat and burn the house down. It should be running somewhere around 500 degrees f

Omega oven model number is OO910XA

If it is a common problem with Omega, they may not be ready to admit it. Since it occured 2 times, possibly the hinges use nylon rollers for smooth and quiet operation, but the hinges are not well shielded from the hi heat of 500-600 degrees and the nylon parts fail after a few months constant heat exposure. There is a common problem that happens with oven doors when they do not seam to close tight: besides being old and normally worn, if a door is leaned on while it is open, the hinges could be stretched and then they will never allow the door to close tight. This has happened to many ovens regardless of age, and the customer never realized that the weight or pressure they applied to the door when in the open position has done damage; yet they wunder why the door does not close well. One of the oven doors does not close tight so heat escapes. It is a Jenn Aire electric double wall oven model number JJW9627DDS.

Sounds like the oven door hinges have worn. If door is not obstructed in any way and will fully close when pushed but open about half a inch when released then it will be the hinges. Not sure of cost of spairs. I believe this to be a John Lewis Model. If it has a Enr no inside the door or inbetween the door hinges then I could give you price on spares

Kitchenaid oven door will not stay closed

I had the same problem on my parents Kitchenaid KEMS378GWH0 oven, the door would only close enough to keep the light on. They propped a chair against it to cook. My father replaced the hinges and it worked for about a week. He noticed that pulling outward on the door at the very bottom edge often allowed it to close enough to use.
After completely dismantling the oven to get access to the brackets that the hinges slide into, we found it was not broken. We decided to expand on the only near solution we had and find a way to make the bottom of the door 'push out'. Our solution was very simple. Remove the small metal plate that covers the door insulation. This revealed that the insulation is a braided hollow rope that is held in by small clips that push through holes in the front of the oven. We threaded some small metal rods about 3/8 inch in diameter into the hollow insulation pushed the clips back in to re-attach the insulation, replaced the metal cover plate.
It worked!
