OverheatingWhen the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

Three things that will make a laptop overheat:

1. Dust - Dust inside the laptop, dust clogging the vents, dust around the fans, dust around the cpu and heatsink. To fix it, take the laptop apart, take a can of compressed air and blow out the dust.

2. A fan is not working. To fix it, you will have to take the laptop apart to replace the fan.

3. The Thermal Paste around the cpu and heatsink has dried up or is too thin to keep the unit cool. To fix, take the laptop apart and apply a fresh coat of Thermal Paste.

Another work around for a laptop that is overheating is to by a Laptop Cooling Pad that has fans on it and it plugs into the usb port of the laptop. The laptop sits on it and it keep the laptop cool. You can buy a laptop cooling pad for less than $20 from Tiger Direct.

Buy a can of compressed air, attach straw, slightly lift left clicker with finger nail and give good blast of air in the crevice, "few times" repeat with right clicker, this will clean out any dirt and hopefully fix the problem.

You probably need to replace the cooling fan, but you can try cleaning it out first. Get a can of compressed air or use an air compressor to spray pressurized air into the vent to spray dust out. If this doesn't work, you probably need to replace the fan. I actually found a guide for opening up the Qosmio G25 and replacing or cleaning the cooling fan. Check it out:

Try blowing the dust out of the laptop by using compressed air in a can or an air compressor, the compressor is the pefered choice (max air pressure 90 psi).
Blow the air into the fan discharge of the laptop, (be sure not to overspeed your fan) then blow the air into the intake of the fan.
Do this a few times until you have no more dust in your laptop.
Then see if that cooled it down, if not maybe your fan is faulty and not cooling properly.
You can also put a cooling pad with fans under the laptop to help cool , they have the laptop coolers with usb power.

Try to fix the problem without taking the laptop apart first but I would recommend using a powerful air compressor instead of a vacuum cleaner.

Welcome to FixYa! Based on the error you have received, this means that the cooling fan of your laptop needs to be cleaned and checked at. This is a common problem with any toshiba laptop. I suggest checking the heatsink of your laptop. If the CPU heatsink is not clogged with dust and lint completely, you can use canned air and just blow it inside the laptop through the openings on the bottom and on the sides. It's nice as a precaution measure, but it might not work if your laptop already has a problem and the heatsink is completely clogged.

1. Open the laptop case, so you can access the CPU fan and the heatsink. In some cases you can access the heatsink through the latch on the bottom of the laptop. Sometimes (for example Toshiba Satellite A70/A75) you have to open the laptop case all the way down.
2. Carefully disconnect the fan cables on the system board and remove the fan. If the fan makes unusual sound when it spins (grinding sound), I would recommend to replace the fan.
3. Clean the fan and the heatsink with compressed air.
4. I would also recommend removing old thermal grease from the CPU and applying new grease for better heat conductivity.
5. If your laptop is still under warranty, you can take it to any Toshiba Authorize Service Provider and fix the problem at no charge to you.

sounds like an overheating issue. your fan and/or cooling vents may be clogged and need cleaned.
an easy way to try and fix that is using compressed air (you can get cans of compressed air form computer shops) let your laptop cool down before you use compressed air though, as the air comes out very cold it could damage your laptop if its still hot inside.

If it does not clear the dust you will have to open up the laptop and manually clean it out from dust.

Inside your laptop is a processor. The Cooling Fan, and Air Intake Duct you mentioned, are part of the cooling system. The main job for the cooling system, is to keep the processor at a reasonable operating temperature.

When a processor becomes too hot it turns off. (Actually BIOS turns it off)

With the amount of foreign debris you mentioned, (Dust/Dirt/Hair/Carpet Deodorizer/Food Crumbs/Lint, are a few examples of foreign debris), the Cooling Tube may be clogged.
Just using a can of compressed air for computers, in the Air Intake Duct, (DO NOT blow into the Exhaust Duct!), may not be enough.

Generally the Cooling Tube is about the width of your finger, and the height is half the thickness of a finger. Pretty small tube, and easily clogged. Also the Heatsink at the end of the cooling tube, can become clogged.

Laptops have a poor cooling design anyway. Everything is crammed into one tiny box. They use a small fan to cool them, and the Air Intake Duct is typically located on the bottom. (Some are on the side) This is a good (?) area to inhale readily available foreign debris.

This requires opening the laptop, and physically removing the foreign debris. Typical method is a combination of Q-tips, and Isopropyl Alcohol, plus a can of compressed air.
(AC adapter {Charger} removed, battery removed. Use an ESD wrist strap, and connect it's alligator clip to a good ground)

By the way. You DID have the AC adapter, (Charger), disconnected, and battery out, when you used the can of compressed air, right?
