Toshiba Portege 3500 Win Xp Bios password - How Can I flash bios?

Hello there. I have a customer who has this laptop Toshiba Portege 3500. I know that there is a problem with some Toshiba laptops where a bios password will just appear, even if you didnt put one in yourself. I know that if you get a firmware update the problem goes away. I cant get that far until I get past the bios password. I know with other laptops I have been able to create a little jumper or a gadget that will move the bios password from one laptop to another. I figure this would be the same. Thanks, Mark

Boot your pc from it and use BIOS / CMOS Tools from it.
After that use the patch

Here is a guide toremove windows passwordwith Windows Password Recovery Tool Professional from http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com/Step1: Download and install Windows Password Recovery Tool.
Step2: Burn CD/DVD/USB Flash Drive. (Namely it is to burn a Windows password reset disk.)
Step3: Set the target computer boot from CD/DVD or USB.
Step4:Remove the forgotten Windows passwordwith the burned CD/DVD/USB. Then log on to Windows without a password.
Of course, you can also finish Windows password remover if you have a password reset disk in advance. That's also an easy solution.

CMOS Checksum Inconsistent
This usually occures when the CMOS/BIOS battery is nearly flat. Replace the BIOS battery and go into the BIOS setting to set the Date and Time etc.

It means that the BIOS cannot find a disk to boot.
Make sure you selected the hard drive in the boot settings of your BIOS
Remove all external DVD drives or floppy drives or ethernet cables
If you get an error message, you should start troubleshooting your hard drive.

That BIOS-password exists to protect you, should a thief gain posssession of your computer.

Find your original sales-receipt, to prove that you are the rightful owner, and telephone Toshiba.

Ask for Technical Support -- they can help you "nullify" that BIOS-password.

Don't know how to get rid of hard drive password on toshiba lapto
A hard drive password can only be removed by the person who knows the password because then it can be cleared thru the BIOS.

Otherwise the only other way around it is the buy a new hard drive so it doesn't have a password and you can then reinstall the operating system on the hard drive and then put the drivers on it and any other programs that you want on it.
