I have a 1971 Seeburg Jukebox. The records do not load when we try to play it. I have checked the magnet and it is in place. What other issue may be there?

Same key that operates the locks on the sides unlocks the top, but top might be sticky. Push down on it.
Order keys if you don't have them. It's key F291. GOOD locksmith can make it or order one off eBay.
Your jukebox is a USC2. Use that model number as a reference.
Keypad "0" contacts are probably dirty or broken, or the connectors to the keyboard or black and gray boxes might be loose or need cleaning. Circuit board might be dirty (YES! This is a common Seeburg issue). To clean it of check for broken contacts on the "0" key, you'll have to remove it and open it up. Putting it back together can be tricky. Be patient.
Worst case, you can install a replacement keyboard.

If you have someone come out, be SURE to have them give the jukebox a good lubrication. Seeburgs are complicated machines and need periodic lubrication.

Also, buy a manual. Jukebox repairmen don't usually have the manuals for your jukebox. Too many.

I'm not sure if the other answers even come close to answering you questions.
Since you know nothing about it you might want to get a manual first off.
More info on your model here - http://www.jukebox-world.de/Forum/Archiv/Seeburg/SeeburgMatador.htm

There are selection trouble shooting & help are located here - http://www.ebay.com/itm/231698068028?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Additional tips
All light bulbs
that are located in the key pad "light box" "First digit", "Second digit", Reset / Re-select etc.. are controlled and LIT BY THE SELECTION COMPUTER. They must have the correct bulbs installed! These are special 28V bulbs. Depending on your particular jukebox model, you NEED to use one of the two types listed below.

GE 656 - 28V .06A 2500HR LIFE T3 1/4IN WEDGE BASE MAN19600 EIKO BRAND or

GE 1819 - 1.12 WATTS 28 VOLT BA9S SINGLE CONTACT BAYONET, 9MM DIAMETER.

Installing a 6 or 12 Volt bulb here will cause damage to either your replacement box, and / or the resistors that are located on the small circuit board on the back of the light box. (These resistors are inline on models using 1819 bulbs)

CAUTION
BOTH lamp types look exactly like 12v bulbs, BUT THEY ARE NOT, and are often mistaken for 12v bulbs. This is a very common mistake made by many Seeburg owners, so be careful with this.

Seeburg jukebox ay160 won't select record

(1) Make sure that the credit unit is not stuck and that all of the contacts open and close correctly while manually operating the solenoids. Lubricate it if the wheel does not turn freely. (2) Make sure that there are credits on the machine. (3) If it still wont select check fuses or (4) try pressing the letter and the number simultaneously, some "free play" set ups will work this way.

I have a 1971 SEEBURG MODEL USC2 "Bandshell"

Tormat has been energized by movement over the carpet, someone touching it with a high charge or natural static in the air of a dry house. There is a procedure to deenergize the tormat with a battery. I am searching for the battery size and procedure myself. I will come back if I find out

Wailing sound when 1971 seeburg juke box is started

I amnot very familiar with Seeburgs but the trip switch activates at the end of the record playing and THAT mutes the amp. The amp should also be muted until the tone arm lands on the record. So I would suggest the problem is in the amp.

Mechanism will not pick up records

Hi,

Check out the tormat on your jukebox. It runs almost the full length of the mechanism. On the tormat is the A and B side contacts and a ground rail. You will see that on the mechanism is a arm that runs over these contacts on it it has very fine wire links (similar to those on motor brushes) these can become disconnected and may require being resolderd back into place.
