This is normal, and not error message. check your d90 manual page 65.
The number will appear at the exposure count display when you half press
the shutter release button, telling you that under current settings
(image quality + size), the number of shots, the camera can store is 13 images in the
buffer. Any nuber can be behind the r, telling you how many immages fit in the buffer.
Try another lens. Make sure the camera is set to AF.
R13 is not an error message - the camera is telling you how many images you can take before the camera has to stop and write to the memory card. Please consult your users manual for further information
Choose how the camera focuses.
A (auto) M d (Shooting menu) M I Autofocus mode
A Single AF (default setting)
The camera focuses when the shutter-release button is pressed halfway.
B Full-time AF
The camera focuses continuously until the shutter-release button is pressed down
halfway. Use with moving subjects. The sound of lens drive movement will be heard
while the camera focuses.
