I have recently purchased a plantronics .audio 628 headset and the very next day my puppy chewed the wires. There are 2 wires and inside one is a red and a copper wire. Inside the other wire are 4 wires white, red striped green and solid green. I was able to reconnect them and hear the sound but the mic is not working. Can someone help me plz

Either the battery is low, or the unit is switched on. If you're looking at the base unit of the CS55, on the right hand side there is a switch that either points to I or II. If it's on II, your headset will be activated the second it is removed from the base. If it's on I, it won't turn on, thus it won't turn the light on. Check to make sure that dial is on I instead of II, and when you pick it up you shouldn't have that problem anymore.
If it's a problem with low battery you have to make sure that when you place the headset on the charging cradle that it's securely seated in there. Also make sure that you clean the charging contacts (the brass-coloured contacts on the headset and on the base) about once a month with rubbing alcohol.

1. Check the configuration dial on the left hand side of the base to see if another setting works better. The recommended setting for most phones is 1.
2. Make sure your speaking (transmit) level is not too low. First, try increasing the volume on the telephone. Secondly, the master transmit controls are the ABCD switch settings on the bottom of the base. A is the lowest and D is the highest setting. You can fine tune this setting with the Plus (+) and minus (-) buttons on the back of the base that are above and below the picture of the microphone.
3. Double check the battery has a full charge. To check press down on the headset into the base station to ensure it is in the base in the correct position.
The Amber Charge light on the base will flash while charging and will stay solid amber when fully charged.
3 hours = full charge

On your ps3, go to accessory settings, then sound settings.
Make sure the output device is the same as the input device, ie. your headset.
Hope i helped :)

Thanks everyone but i've fixed this problem myself with hit and trial. Here is how i did it. First there are two black wires and inside one are 1 red and one green wire. Use a lighter and burn the insulation and the white fiber. Light it only for a second or u might burn the copper itself. once you are done then you can connect them and tape it with an electric tape. The second black wire has 4 wires in it. The white one is for mic, the copper i think is for ground, and green and striped green are for left and right. Again use a lighter and join them make sure they are not touching each other. and electric tape it. That's how i got it done. I hope this helps. If u still have any questions please let me know.
