I cant organize my downloads, and I listen to audio books and would like to see if there is a way to bookmark or save the place in my book where I left off. I have to sit there and hold to fwd button forever before I get to where I was last. Also when I down load songs from 1 artist, which has a playlist[folder] they get put every where. And pictures are not going to right folder.

If you are a newbie, and you primarily want the mp3 player for audiobooks, then go ahead and take this player back to the store - I'll tell you why:
The deal between Audible and Philips fell through before the latest series of GoGear's was released. Therefore, even though the player has an Audible folder, it will not properly play Audible audiobook files. Sad, but true.

Your post reminds me that I need to write a Consumer Watch article on mp3 players that claim to play audiobooks - 90% of them will not easily allow you to play audiobooks - you will have to jump through hoops.

If you still want to try, here is what you want to do:
1. Delete any audiobooks off the GoGear, but make sure that you have a copy of the audibooks on your computer itself.
2. Open Windows Media Player. Find your audiobook files in your library. If they don't show up, then you will have to move your mouse over the Library tab - a small black arrow should appear underneath the word "Library" - click the black arrow and select "Add to Library". Click "Add" and find the folder in which your Audible files are stored. It may take several minutes, but Windows Media Player will add these files to Windows Media Player.
3. Right-click an Audiobook file starting with Chapter 1 of whatever book, and select "Advanced Tag Editor". One-by-one, manually assign an a track number to each audiobook chapter - Track 1 for Chapter 1, Track 2 for Chpater 2, etc.
4. Now, re-add the audiobook files to your GoGear.
5. You might additionally have to go into the Settings menu of your GoGear, and turn Shuffle mode off - your user's manual can show you how to do this.

Sound like a lot of work? You betcherbottom dollar it's a lot of work. This particular mp3 player is not the best for audiobooks.

How and where do i put e-books on my mp3 player model HS-57

If by e-books you mean books you can read (visually), you are out of luck. On an MP3 player you can only LISTEN to AUDIO books in MP3 format. You can buy such books at Amazon.com and other places. Another option is to check with your public library to see if they have a downloadable audio book service, which is free but with limited number of books. You download the books to your computer, connect the player to the computer using the USB cable that came with the player and copy/transfer the books from the computer to the player.

Creative Zen V Plus Bookmarks

A little known feature on this player is the ability to use bookmarks, up to 10 of them. How can I read a book on mij gogear philips?

Unfortunately, your Philips GoGear Portable video player SA6045 doesn't support audio books. But it does play books that are in MP3 or WMA format, it does not support navigation through chapters or bookmarking.

So you need to convert them into MP3 or WMA format and you can listen to them.

Hope this helps..

How can I get my audio book to start at the place I left off when I turn off the car? This is not an Audible book

The nuvi GPS line provides "bookmark" (a means of picking up the program where left off) support for the audio books in the file format (usually *.aa ) provided by www.audible.com. A subscription is required for accessing and downloading titles.

There is no provision for placing bookmarks in other file types such as *.mp3, etc. Several different file types are playable on the nuvi GPS, but only those with the .aa extension support bookmarking, and is done automatically without the need for user intervention.

No longer holds a bookmark

I've had my MuVo V100 for a year and can tell you it only saves the bookmark for the last file played. Hence, if you're into a long audiobook, don't switch to another. I've taken to making note of where I am because if the battery dies while playing it will also go back to the last saved bookmark.

TIP: if you accidentally switch away from a book you're listening to, pull the battery BEFORE turning it off -- it will revert to your last bookmark.
