Motorola defy - i want to put a new sim card in, but i can only get emergency calls. Telsta said I need a pku number from motorola

I have removed the Telstra sim card, and I am inserting an Optus sim card through Southern Phone. Telsta said it is unlocked. Southern Phone said they don't lock sim cards. Telstra now said that Motorola have to ring me back and take me through the procedure to unlock it with a PKU number. Waited all day no one rang.

I am using BSNL Cell one prepaid sim on my mobile. Recently I changed my mobile to Motorola Defy. In my previous mobile I could browse internet, but with the new mobile when I try to access google or gmail...

If you are using the BSNL SIM card in your new Motorola then you need to contact BSNL and ask them how to configure the Motorola to get into their Data network.

Motorola DEFY Unlocking InstructionsWarning : Do not enter any wrong unlock codes on your Motorola DEFY mobile phones. If you enter over a certain amount of wrong unlock codes on your Motorola DEFY mobile phone, your phone may get hard locked and sometimes become unusable.
1 - Switch ON your Motorola DEFY with a NOT ACCEPTED SIM Card,
2 - Phone will display "Enter Special Code",
3 - You can now enter the Unlock Code.

NOT ACCEPTED: We mean, to use a sim card from a network other than the network your Motorola DEFY is locked to.

WARNING: If one of theses messages appear :

- "Contact Service Provider"
- "Tampert Alter"
- "Wait before enter special Code"
- "Contact Service'

It's because you or somebody already entered too many wrong codes, you just have to leave the Motorola DEFY ON with the errors message and after 40 minutes to 2 hours the message "Enter Code Special" will appear again!
Each Motorola DEFY mobile phone has an unique unlock code. You can buy the unique unlock code for your Motorola DEFY mobile phone using the form above.

My motorola ZN5 PHone showing Emergency call only- what can i do now kinldy help me...

This happens when no sim-card is inserted or your carrier's network is not available. Try to check the sim-card contacts or put it into another phone and see whether it works there. If the sim-card is defective you generally can exchange it for free in the nearest office of your wireless-carrier.
When the phone says "emergency calls only" it means that the phone has found a network, but it can not register in it due to the problems described above. For emergency calls network registration is not required, it is made for so you could call 911 even without any sim-card installed.

Motorola pku

Hi the PUK code is the security code for the sim card and not the phone, all you need to do is call your service provider and ask them for the PUK code for the sim card that is asking for the code, they will give you this code for free over the phone, its a 10digit code so dont try guessing as you will block the sim card.

if you dont need to use that sim card then you can get a new sim card for your phone and this wont ask for the PUK code.

Each sim card made has its own unique PUK code and it is totally random so their are no number generators out their that can get you this number as its unique to each sim card.

Giving your service provider a call will get you the PUK code and they wont charge for giving you this, if you enter the number wrong between 5 and 10 times depending on what network your with then this will mean the sim card is locked and can no longer be used and you will also lose any data that is stored on the sim card.

My tracfone disp allows emergency calls only.

The same thing happened to me. Take the battery and SIM card out of the phone, then simply put them back in and turn the phone back on. Fixed the problem for me.
