Scosche FIA-3A Tie into rear spekers of a 300C to power a sub amp

Hello herg1076,
Here's a link to www.modifiedlife.com which will have a page showing the color codes for your vehicle wiring. The 2008 Chrysler 300 rear speakers are shown as follows: Left positive is Dark Green/Tan, Left negative is Dark Green/Gray, Right positive is Dark Green/Brown, and Right negative is Yellow/Green. Other models and other years will be different, so be sure that you browse to the correct color codes for your specific vehicle.
Hope this helps.

Installing self amplified sub to factory stereo

Hello Jax GS300,

Yes, you can use RCA cables. Just wire in a "low-level" converter.

Using RCA's is really the best way, allowing you to run shielded wiring to the sub, making it less likely that the wiring will pick up electrical interference. I'd install the converter on the rear speaker wires behind the dash.

If you do not want to convert the speaker output, you can drive the Kenwood directly from the speaker wires. The diagram in the install manual shows the connections coming off the rear speakers.

Here's a link to one output converter. This one will convert all 4 speakers.

Hope this helps.

Need wiring instructions for vbx12a

You will need the following:
A power wire (preferably 4 or 8 gauge) with an inline fuse (typically 50amps)
A battery terminal adapter to connect the power wire
A signal wire to let the amp know when the stereo is on
RCA audio cables to connect the amplifier to your stereo
A ground wire for the amplifier (again 4 or 8 gauge preferred)

Walmart sells a Scosche kit that has all of the wiring as well as a basic diagram for about $25, but it does not include the battery terminal adapter.

If you have a factory stereo you won't have RCA ouputs, so you will need a line level converter. A basic one like the Scosche SLC4 usually runs in the $20 range. You splice into your speaker wires and run them into the unit, then plug the RCAs into it.
