Yeah dude. I had music on mine already, and then i had to do this thing on my computer that completely removes all files and downloaded links, like limewire, creative central etc. So i re downloaded creative central and all of that ****. Then i spent a few hours downloading new music from limewire, and i tried to transfer it to my zen and it says "player is not connected" or something like that under "transfer"
but the transfer button isnt even clickable unless theres something plugged in. So idk. someone should help me out...?Yeah dude. Hey, did you get it working? Erm, anyway thats just happened to mine, its easy all you have to do is press the reset button on the side, hopefully it'll work!

Use a paperclip to push the reset button throught a small hole on the bottom of the Zen. If the battery is dead, you may need to plug it in for a minute and then push the reset button while it's charging.
If you already try both reset, then try doing a firmware update.
On computer try unplugging computer power cable, and if it is a laptop also remove battery, this sort out problems related with electrostatic charges on computer USB ports.
I have the 8gb Zen and I usually end up with a frozen screen when I upload music. I unplugged the Zen and then use a needle to reset the player. It located at the bottom right.

the screen won't turn on its shut down completley
