It was not designed for use with apple products but if you tried it, it would absolutely hurt nothing. it just wouldn't work. good luck

Your Viewsonic (apparently) used: Android OS 2.2 and that is quite old!

(Almost always), a Android device needs to be OPERATIONAL before it can be updated. It MUST also be able to 'communicate' to receive the updated OS...

Now your VS (apparently) HAS a external SD Card slot, so you MAY be able to copy the new Android OS to that card then maybe you can load from there ~ BUT, your Tablet MUST be operational to do it!

It would help if you told us what kind of computer you were using and what operating system it has - Windows? Mac? Android?

Things like iPad don't come with a detailed user manual as to how to use each and every function of them. They are intuitive and you can learn only by using the device. However for most basic operations, they can have a user manual either online or offline. Try searching for iPad user manual online.

You will need a new keyboard or joy stick. If you're not under warranty you can get the parts at Kindle Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to put in the screen at Electronics Repair Guide.

If you can install Windows Vista and only XP not work for sure this is the solution :
SATA operation mode is AHCI
To change this :
Open BIOS
Look for SATA Operation Mode or somethin equivalent and change-it to IDE or Compatibility Mode.
